Our next trip is scheduled April Please contact David Millsaps ( ; v92cdc@gmail.com) with questions or if you are interested. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: MOBILE MEALS There are invisible people in Greensboro: They are the elderly and homebound who are dependent on others to bring them food for their survival. Their situation is heartbreaking but not hopeless. Thanks to Mobile Meals volunteers, they see a friendly face at least once a day, maybe the only face from the outside world they will see that day. Be a part of this hopeful ministry. Christ Church has two Mobile Meals routes open that need drivers. It takes about 2 3 hours the fourth Tuesday of every month to deliver the meals. The ideal would be to have two volunteers for each route, so this would be a good partnering opportunity. There is also a need for substitute drivers. Volunteer today by contacting Dru Hopkins (drucie55@aol.com, ). PEACEHAVEN FARM WALK Peacehaven is a sustainable farm that connects people with special needs to the larger community through shared living and the work of the farm. Peacehaven s 2017 Farm Walk, a fundraising and friend-raising event at the farm, offers an opportunity to explore the farm s 89 beautiful acres as you walk the special1.2-mile Farm Walk course. LENTEN OFFERING FOR MISSIONARIES At Christ Church, we are in covenant relationship with two missionary families: Gordon and Ardell Graner (Dominican Republic) and Paul Webster (Zambia). This relationship calls us to pray for our missionaries and provide at least $3,000 of salary support and at least $3,000 in support for their in-country project each year for each missionary. During the season of Lent, we collect a special offering that goes toward the support of these missionaries. If you would like to give in support of our missionaries, please designate your check or envelope for the Lenten Offering or give online at christgreensboro.org. COMMUNION AT THE 8:30AM SERVICE Because the season of Lent calls us to a deeper spiritual life, communion will be offered in a simple form each week during Lent (through April 9) and on Easter Sunday (April 16), at the 8:30am traditional service. (Communion will continue to be served on the first Sunday of each month at all of our other services.) Please prayerfully consider attending and receiving the Lord s Supper. CENTERING PRAYER AND SHARED SILENCE Fifteen minutes of centering prayer or shared silence will be offered in the Parlor from 9:30am 9:45am each Sunday during Lent (through April 9). A brief introduction to centering prayer will be given at 9:30am. For those who choose not to practice centering prayer, participation in the shared silence offers several options: In the silence, some offer prayers of intercession or thanksgiving, while others use the silence for quiet reflection. The session will end promptly at 9:45am, allowing participants to be on time for Sunday school.
