1 Welcome May you truly sense God s Spirit at work in this place and in your life. 11 o clock Worship PRELUDE Processional William Mathias WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Rev. L. John Gable INTROIT Hosanna Christian Gregor Sanctuary Choir, Dorothy Benz-Buchanan, soprano; Victoria Nance, mezzo-soprano Hosanna! Blessed is He that comes in the Name of the Lord! Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest! CHILDREN S PALM PROCESSION (Please remain seated.) CHILDREN S Kingdom, through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen. Indicates the congregation is to stand. RESPONSIVE REFLECTION Congregation and Choir Refrain Cantor: Christ suffered for you and left you an example, To have you follow in His footsteps. Cantor: He did no wrong: no deceit was found in His mouth. When He was insulted, He returned no insult. To To Cantor: When He was made to suffer, He did not counter with threats. Instead, He delivered Himself up to the One who judges justly. Cantor: In His own body, He brought your sins to the cross, So that all of us, dead to sin, could live in accord with God s will. By His wounds you are healed. PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. RECEIVING OF TITHES & OFFERINGS They Crucified My Lord arr. John Carter Sanctuary Choir He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; Like a lamb led to the slaughter And as a sheep before it s shearers is dumb. So He opened not His mouth, He opened not His mouth. They crucified my Lord, They nailed Him to the tree, And He never said a mumbalin word, not a word They pierced His hands and side, He bowed His head and died, Response #809 Doxology Old Hundredth Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen. Prayer of Dedication RESPONSE When I Survey the Wondrous Cross Gilbert Martin Sanctuary Choir When I survey the wondrous cross on which the Prince of Glory died, My richest gain I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride. Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast, save in the death of Christ, my God! All the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to His blood. See, from His head, His hands, His feet, sorrow and love flow mingled down! Did e er such love and sorrow meet, or thorns compose so rich a crown? Were the whole realm of nature mine, that were a present far too small; Love, so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all! Amen! And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen. Hymn #196 All Glory, Laud, and Honor Valet Will Ich Der Geben POSTLUDE Hosanna! Paul Wachs
