2 Our Journey Our History began in 1990, when Pastor Fuller formed a church planting team (which consisted of his wife Brenda Fuller, Rev. Steven Hill, Rev. Bernard Hamilton and Rev. Dwayne Bond), where his vision finally came to fruition. On November 4, 1990, New Song Bible Fellowship Church held its first public worship service, which took place in the chapel of the former Washington Bible College in Lanham, Maryland. The inaugural message preached by our Founding Pastor, Pastor Fuller was The Masters Mandate taken from Matthew 28: This has been the church s message and mandate ever since. Why We Are Called New Song The name New Song was chosen to cast a vision of the level of worship that should be the hallmark among God s redeemed people. As believers, God gives to each of us a new song, one that reflects how great and awesome our God is, and that testifies of the wonderful things He is doing in and through His church. God calls us to sing unto Him so that our songs of praise and worship will be a witness to others, and cause them to want to know more about God s Kingdom and His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! Sing to the LORD, all the earth, sing to the LORD, bless His name; proclaim the good news of His salvation from day-to-day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all the peoples. Psalm, 96:1-3. New Song is committed to... Magnifying God and Making Disciples, who are Making a Difference; Everyday, Everywhere, and with Everyone. (Matthew 28:19-20; Colossians 1:28; Psalm 96) The 30-Year Ministry Plan God gave Pastor Fuller a 30-year assignment, in which he has tried to remain faithful to carry out. The first seven years focused on the Church Plant ( ). The next seven years focused on Church Development ( ). The next seven years focused on Church Expansion ( ). The next ten plus years we will be focusing on Church Expansion and Mobilization ( ).

3 Church Plant From 1990 through 2011, Pastor Fuller has focused on making disciples and laying a solid foundation for the Church to build upon. During this time, God brought people from all walks of life who have become co-laborers and partners in helping New Song to grow to maturity. Church Development By 1998, New Song membership had grown to approximately 120 households. From 1998 to 2004 was a church development phase. During this time, New Song focused on building its discipleship program, and thus started the Master Life classes. It was an exciting time for the church as approximately 40 members graduated from the Master Life class its first year. Each year, the congregation assembled together to rejoice in the work of God and fellowship as a church family through cookouts (held at the former Washington Bible College campus, and are currently being held there to this day), and anniversary celebrations. Church Expansion We have been intentional about fulfilling our Lord s mandate to be witnesses to Jesus in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8). Under the leadership of Pastor Fuller and our staff, New Song Bible Fellowship members men, women, and youth have traveled to 40 plus different destinations around the country and around the world, to serve as Kingdom Ambassadors for Christ. Listed on the following page are many of those places (* U.S. destinations). Church Expansion and Mobilization 2011 Present Under the leadership of Pastor Fuller, we will continue to fulfill and expand our DREAM, as well as partner with other establishments, and work alongside other churches so that we can make a powerful impact on our local community and the world. New Song s primary focus in this mobilization is that we penetrate the darkness by winning souls for Jesus Christ, for the advancement of the Kingdom of God, and making more Disciples. As a Church, we remember with reverence and gratitude the great things that God has done, and we move forward with our 30-year plan through being a world mission focused church, mobilizing God s people as Kingdom Ambassadors of P.E.A.C.E. As God gives life, strength, grace and favor, Pastor Fuller and New Song will be focused on mobilizing people, groups, and teams to help carry-out the mandate of Christ. New Song will be a Body of Believers

4 who will help to reach our local communities and the nations, by sharing the love of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. New Song is mindful that it is the Spirit of God that has guided us, empowered us, and protected us as we have traveled this journey. New Song presses on with thanksgiving, praise, and adoration to our Great God and King who has been faithful to us on this journey. Whereof, we are able to sing a New Song. Also, over the past 26 years, more than 40 ministers have come through New Song, and some have moved on to plant new churches and start other ministries. SONNY ACHO (Ph.D., University of Texas) is the Senior Pastor of Living Hope Bible Fellowship Church located in North Dallas and is founder and president of Living Hope Christian Ministries. In addition to his ministerial service within the local church, Dr. Acho maintains a private practice in Dallas. THE CHRISTMAS STORY REHEARSAL The Children s Ministry has started preparing for our Christmas Production: The Christmas Story. Please join us for rehearsals most Fridays at 7:00pm and Saturdays at 4:30pm in the Sanctuary. There will be singing, Rejoicing and laughter during the Presentation, and you will be genuinely entertained by NSBFC s family. Marriage Retreat The Married Couples Ministry is EXCITED to celebrate The Valentine Married Couples 20 Year Anniversary Retreat. New Song is partnering with Calvary Evangelical Baptist Church.
