2 Sunday School for all ages at 9:15am. Registration forms are at the Information Center and on our website for Children s Sunday School (3 years old grade 5). Youth Sunday School takes place in the Ziemer Building basement, located across the parking lot from the main church building. Each week students in grades 6 through 12 gather for fellowship and discipleship. Adult Sunday School meets in Wesley Hall. New Confirmation Class for ! The fall marks the graduation of one Confirmation class and the beginning of another! If you are entering 9 th grade and are interested in getting Confirmed, please contact Aaron Martinez (amartinez@fumcgb.org) so he can get you connected with all the relevant information. The first class meeting will be on Wednesday, September 20 from 7:30-8:30pm in Room 108. See you there! Garden Transplant, Share & Lunch Extravaganza Saturday, September 23 (rain date September 30) 9:00-11:30am Come to our church garden to transplant and share your extra plants with church and others. You may even find some neat ones to take home! Please dig your plant a couple weeks early (if possible) and keep them in the shade. Label your plants with as much information as possible; name, height, bloom time/color and sun/shade. We ll also be spreading compost so bring plants, shovels, hand trowels, wheelbarrows/garden carts and the kids! This is an affair for the whole family. Lunch will be provided following all the hard work. Call Ritalyn Arps (920) to RSVP. Gifts of Childcare Wanted We are looking for additional Nursery Staff for our littlest church goers. If you are gifted in this area, please contact Craig Berken. We d like to have a set of reliable, familiar faces for our littlest ones so they can learn about Jesus just as we do. This is a paid position. Nursery Staff is needed: Sundays, 7:45am-12:00pm Wednesday evenings, September-June from 5:45-7:45pm and other church events as needed. First Preschool & Daycare is seeking a school age teacher for our Leonardo da Vinci after school program Monday Friday afternoons. Experience preferred, early childhood & CPR classes required. 5 Faith Community Nurse Office Hours: Sundays 8:00-10:30am Wednesdays 5:30-7:30pm Located in the church office Michelle Heuvelmans-Sponholtz was called to be the Faith Community Nurse for First Church, and we welcome her! A Faith Community Nurse (FCN) is a registered nurse who is bound by state licensure nursing code of ethics, and who follows the state association for FCN s. The focus of the FCN is to help to keep well the body, mind, and spirit of not only the congregation but also the church staff. This ministry is about taking care of the people that take care of others spirituality and the congregation they support. Some of the things that a FCN can do is provide education in general, or on specific topics related to well-being. This could be eating better, how to get exercise, stress management, service for specific needs just to name a few. Beginning this Sunday, she is available for blood pressure checks, talking with people about any health concerns, providing support, teaching, and helping people to be in charge of their health. Wednesday Night Church Family Suppers Come and join others for supper and fellowship from 5:30 to 6:00pm prior to scheduled Wednesday night activities. Each week our cooks (Sharon or Mary) will have something different prepared for the menu. We will clean up as a group from 6:00 to 6:15pm. You can sign up to bring a dessert. Meals are offered for a donation. Please leave a gift to cover the cost in the basket. Please RSVP if you are coming, as this helps us know how many to cook for each week. To volunteer to provide dessert, or to get more information, contact Lina. SPARK Kids: Discover, Create, and Imagine The Christian life is much more than Sunday Morning! SPARK Kids is a midweek opportunity for children (Kindergarten through grade 5) to discover God, learn Scripture, develop Christian friendships, and grow in their faith. Join us on Wednesdays on the second level from 6:15-7:15pm. Ignite Youth (Grades 6 th -12 th ) meets on Wednesday nights from 6:15pm to 7:15pm in the Ziemer basement (across the parking lot from the main church building). Join us on our journey to radically live out the good news of Christ as we grow in our relationships with one another, dig into the Bible, and worship the God we serve and love. Our theme for the year is I m Not Ashamed (from Romans 1:16). Come find out what that could mean for your life! We would love to have you join us! Join JAM JAM (Jesus and Me) Contemporary Praise Band and Vocal Team participates in the Fresh Bread worship service at 10:45am most Sundays throughout the year. Rehearsals are Thursdays from 5:30-7:30pm in Fellowship Hall. We re looking to add members, as well as computer and video techs. (Weekly commitment is not required.)
