4 Page 4 Adventure Report! This week I got a chance to talk with the kids about rest. I think we often feel guilt around rest. Hard work is so central in American culture. While that is a good thing, it often creates a feeling in us that we should never stop working. If we re not answering s, then we should be folding laundry or running errands and on and on it goes. How amazing that our Savior doesn t expect that of us? In fact, He is quite the opposite. In the story I shared with the children, He recognized when his disciples were tired and intentionally made time for them to rest together. In that moment, there was a crowd gathering. More work, and great work at that, was presenting itself but Jesus stopped just the same and let His friends rest. The Lord is more interested in us being whole than us being productive. I am grateful for that today. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 Kahla SERVICE IS ONE OF THE 9 See page 6 for more details WAYS FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH The Harrison Christian newsletter is folded and prepared for mailing by volunteers. People who donate a few hours on a Wednesday morning once a month or as needed. If this sounds like something you would enjoy doing then call the church office and let Karon put you on the rotating schedule for the folding team.
