A friend said perhaps it meant that no one could see his sorrow and live. Or perhaps his sorrow is splendor. And great mystery: to redeem our brokenness and lovelessness the God who suffers with us did not strike some mighty blow of power but sent his beloved son to suffer like us, through his suffering to redeem us from suffering and evil. Our K-5 th graders participated in their quarterly mission/service project on Sunday, learning about and serving the homeless in our community. After an unexpected visit from a homeless man (thank you, Jim Weiss), we had a busy and fun time creating our own snack mix and filling individual snack bags (and making quite a mess!). Many thanks to all who donated food items for the snack mix (we received TONS!) and thank you to our hard-working students who filled 213 snack mix bags to donate to the Samaritan Ministries soup kitchen. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. Matthew 25:35 Playground Safety. The Forum will feature author and speaker James K. A. Smith, who will use his unique gift of translation to help us build bridges between the academy, society, and the church.
