Every awesome thing in creation is designed to point you to the One who alone is worthy of capturing and controlling the awe of your searching and hungry heart. If awesome things in creation become your god, the God who created those things will not own your awe. Horizontal awe is meant to do one thing: stimulate vertical awe. CALL TO CONFESSION Prayer of Confession Lamb of God, we are burdened: We do not love you as we should. We forget our dependence on you and do not honor you. Instead of glorifying you, we try to bring ourselves glory. Lamb of God, we are burdened: We do not love others as we should. We hurry through our days and miss opportunities to be your hands and feet. We judge quickly and respond thoughtlessly. Lamb of God, we are burdened: We do not love ourselves as we should. We disparage our appearances, criticize our best efforts, and misuse our bodies. Lamb of God, we are burdened: We are weighed down by the bad things that are done to us. 7 CONGREGATIONAL LIFE Nursery Volunteer Schedule. The April through June 2017 volunteer schedule for the nursery is now available on the Hope website hopechurchws.org/nursery. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Elizabeth Koneru at Donations are needed for the Dominican Republic. The Mission Emanuel team is gearing up for their trip April 9th! You can help them prepare! Monetary donations (in any amount) will help purchase diabetic supplies, fresh water, diapers and formula for babies, and even craft supplies needed for the Easter story time our team will be doing for children. Checks written to Hope Church, with Mission Emanuel in the memo line, can be sent to the church office or put in the offering plate by April 2nd. If you would like to donate items needed at the Medical Center, please see the list of items needed on our website, hopechurchws.org. Those items may be put in the bins labeled MISSION EMANUEL on Sunday morning or on the covered front porch at 431 Staffordshire Road by April 2nd. Renovatus Retreat. New Refugee Family. On Wednesday night at midnight, our World Relief Good Neighbor Team welcomed a refugee family from Cambodia. The Team asks for your prayers while we seek to make them feel welcome and provide many of their basic needs as they begin their new life here. All children, three years old-5th grade, are invited to join the Palm Processional at the beginning of the worship service on April 9th. Rehearsal is at 10:00am. Sunday School teachers will escort them from their classrooms. The Easter Egg Hunt will immediately follow the worship service on April 9th. All children, toddlers-5th grade, are invited to participate. Bring your own basket for egg collection! Please let Deanne Trollinger, children@hopechurchws.org, know if you plan to attend. The Hope Men s Retreat will be held at the Montreat Conference Center, May 5th-7th. Registration will be available on our website soon.
