That Easter Bunny s hopping a little too fast this year! Didn t we just celebrate Christmas...like...YESTERDAY? I don t know about you, but it doesn t seem possible that it s almost Easter. Regardless of the fact that it s early this year. It STILL doesn t seem possible. And yet, isn t that the point? Easter NEVER SEEMS POSSIBLE! Death giving way to life. Sorrow turning to laughter. The end being just the beginning. Easter is about a big, impossible change, whether we re ready for it or not. This is a good year for us to be surprised by the quickly coming Easter joy! 5 SPECIAL OLYMPICS Taylor and Jeff Dickerson have been volunteering with the Special Olympics Winter Games the last two years. Last year, Taylor was paired with Roger Neumann, shown here. This year, Taylor and Jeff were there to watch Roger receive his gold medals in Advanced Super G and Advanced Giant Slalom! Congratulations Roger! And thank you Jeff and Taylor for volunteering and enhancing this experience for some very 5

6 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES THRIFT SHOP: Volunteers are needed in ALL AREAS. Assist with sorting, pricing, putting items in the shop, working the shop, and organizing/tidying up the shop. Please contact the church office if you are interested! PAGE TURNERS BOOK CLUB: A volunteer is needed to lead this fun, once-per-month group. Volunteer position includes selecting and obtaining books from the library, and leading the discussion (including selecting study questions). Currently meets on the 2nd Friday of every month, 11:45am (participants bring lunch). Time and day are flexible. Contact the church office if you are interested. MUSIC: Join the Chancel Choir and/or Handbell Choir! No experience necessary. Our singers meet on Thursdays, 7:30pm, in the sanctuary. Our ringers meet on Wednesdays, 7:00pm in The Upper Room. The Chancel Choir contact is Rachel Caldari Stroh. The Handbell Choir contact is George Hemenetz. We re currently preparing for Easter and would love to have you! 6

7 SNOW!!! The snow looks so beautiful!! You can see how deep the blizzard was by the depth at the sidewalk to the church! We can enjoy the beauty in the photos as we look forward to Spring! Thanks to Pastor Amanda for these lovely photos! 7

8 Our Youth Group got together recently for some Chinese food and a movie (Heaven Is For Real) at the Parsonage. Looks like a fun time was had by all!! 8

10 2016 Easter Flowers/Donation Order Form Easter flowers and decorations add so much to the beauty of our sanctuary for Easter worship. There are two ways to honor or remember someone special: 1) You may purchase plants for $10.00 per plant *Due to higher cost, hydrangea plant is $15/ea. **Smaller pot, tete-a-tete plant is $5/ea. 11 Join Us For Worship During Holy Week Palm Sunday, March 20th Worship will begin in the Tabernacle at 10:30 am. We ll process with our palms to the sanctuary in honor of Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem! Maundy Thursday, March 24th Christian Seder and Pot-Luck Supper in Memorial Hall at 6:30 pm. Bring a dish to share! (dinner and/or dessert) Good Friday, March 25th Car pool from the church to see the movie Risen (rated PG-13). Theater location, price of tickets, and exact time (hoping for a showing close to 7:00 pm) to be announced. Contact church office to reserve tickets. Easter Sunday, March 27th Sunrise Service at the Mount Tabor Country Club golf course at 6:30 am. There will be no seating, so bring a lawn chair if needed. This will be an approximately 20 minute service. Easter Celebration Worship in our sanctuary at 10:30 am. Our Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir and Liturgical Dancers will help us celebrate! Holy Communion will also be served. 11

13 CURRENT ADULT BIBLE STUDY In conjunction with our sermon series for Lent, we will be exploring Christianity s relationship with other religions beginning Sunday, February 14th. We ll be using Adam Hamilton s book, Christianity and World Religions. Class runs 9:15 am 10:15 am on Sunday mornings in The Upper Room. ALL are welcome! SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH Sunday School for Children and Youth Pre K (potty-trained) through High School. Faith-filled fun! Bring a friend! 9:15 am 10:20 am Sunday mornings. Adult Bible Study held at the same time. A beautiful view of a frozen Tabor Lake. Thanks to Jeff Dickerson for this peaceful, calming view!
