1 Thursday, January 24, 2019 Dear Friends in Christ, If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if one part gets the glory, all the parts celebrate with it. You are the body of Christ and parts of each other. -I Corinthians 12:26-27 (CEB) We are united in Christ in such a way that what happens to you, happens to me too. There is a great blessing in a community of care like that as well as a high calling for us to suffer and celebrate with one another. As we gather this Sunday, I ask you to come with a sense of gratitude for the great gift we have in Christ and one another. Sincerely, Jonathan Adults Upcoming Sermon Series 1 Corinthians 1:1-3 From Paul.To God s church that is in Corinth: To those who have been made holy to God in Christ Jesus, who are called to be God s people. 6 As you can see, many people shared stories of God's work in their lives. We have an excerpt from the testimony of Pastor Daniel's wife, Perpetua, below: Perpetua has come before God and God s people to share her testimony to thank God because of three things. 1. She said that God has done good thing in her life because she finish the whole year of 2018 to 2019, when she have a good health and alive with her family together. She prayed God to gives the peace in the United States of America because the Bible said if you enter in the house, village, country, you must pray to have the peace, and you also can live there in the peace. 2. She also thank God because he help her to take care of the live of pastor of the church. She said she tried to counselor her husband with comforting and convincing in the good work with our God as what we promises to our Lord Jesus Christ before we chosen to be a God s servants. 3. Perpetua asked to God to continue to be with us, especially to give us the Holy Spirit in our church and continue to have gifts of intercession for the sick. She ask God to gives her husband to have a wisdom like Solomon in his education that he have studying now. We often ask this question when we take time to reflect on our spiritual journeys. I hope you will join us for such a time as this on Sat., Feb. 9th, for the UMW Women's Day Apart. Our theme is "Soul Weaving- Enjoying the Journey". We'll look at how we can understand what the Soul is, how we can attend to caring for it, and why that matters in our walks of faith. There will be moments of learning, moments of fellowship, moments of quiet, moments of singing, moments of praying, and moments for whatever you need it to be. We will reflect on the last line of Mary Oliver's poem, The Summer Day, when she asks the question..."tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? "Come, and attend to your beautiful Soul. Connect with your God who waits for you. Refresh for the living of these days. I look forward to seeing you! Bring someone with you-all are invited.
