All Children entering 1 st Grade thru 6 th Grade in the Fall of 2018 are invited to join us for a FUN WEEK of Music, Crafts, Games and Yummy Snacks! We will conclude the Week with a MUSICAL Presented by our Choir Camp Participants on Friday Evening, July 13 th. Sign-Ups will begin the end of May. HELP IS NEEDED FROM: Middle School, High School, College and Adults. Please Call Micki to Volunteer! CHOIR CAMP AUDITIONS: If your child is interested in a SPEAKING OR SINGING SOLO, please attend 1 of these Audition Times: Sun., June 12:30 pm or Mon., June 10 am. If you cannot make either of these times, please call or Micki to schedule a time BEFORE these dates. CHILDREN S LITURGY OF THE WORD is looking for more volunteers for the Team. This Ministry presents the Sunday Readings and Meditations on a child s level. We offer this at the 8:30 & 11:00 am Mass each Sunday, but WE DESPARATELY NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS TO KEEP IT GOING. If we don t get enough volunteers ESPECIALLY AT 8:30 am Mass, we may have to cancel it. It only involves 1 Sunday each month during the Liturgy of the Word at Mass. Please or call Micki for more information. NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO JOIN ONE OF OUR GOOD SHEPHERD CHOIRS. We have Choirs that sing at both the 8:30 am Mass and the 11:00 am Mass. Starting in Mid-May we will be meeting 1 Hour before the Mass. So Join a Summer Choir Now and Cut-Out the Weds. Night Rehearsals! H S R S HOLY SPIRIT SCHOOL is seeking a full-time teacher in PreK, elementary, and a middle school science teacher, as well as substitute teachers, a nurse (PT- LPN or RN) and AfterCare workers for the SY. We meet every morning (9:00 noon), June We ll be shipwrecked castaways, but with hope in the Lord, we are sure to find rescue! Good Shepherd s VBS is for everyone-all ages; call the RE office to find your place in the Crew! On line registration at VBS ADULT VOLUNTEERS Crew Call Tuesday, June 12 at 6:00 pm in the Religious Ed building. Come meet your crew mates, pick up materials and crew gear. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION for next school year ( ) is underway. Forms are on the parish web site, in the RE office, Church office and vestibule. Turn in your family s registration by June 17 for a registration discount. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY for our parish youth preparing for Confirmation. The Rite of Confirmation will be celebrated on Aug. 25 at 5:00 pm. THANK YOU TO ALL who have given us the Blessed Reconciliation and Eucharist materials from Dynamic Catholic that they ve received as members of Dynamic Catholic Ambassador Club. If you have received these materials and won t be using them yourself, we d be happy to put them to use; our second graders are enjoying learning from them! Y A MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP will meet this Sun., June 3 from 6-7:30 pm for field games and popsicles. Please wear tennis shoes to run in! NORTH ALABAMA WORK CAMP will be June for rising 9 th graders recent High School Graduates.. We will join together with Holy Spirit, St. John s, and Annunciation in Decatur to participate in service projects all across North Alabama. See detailed needs on donation tub in church foyer. Bob Eison CANCER SUPPORT GROUP meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 1:30-3:00 pm in the Conference Room. All are welcome. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED at the Catholic Center of Concern (1010 Church St. in Huntsville). We need volunteers for the clothing room, telephone intake, client services, Finance Committee, and the Advisory Board. Please contact Kermit Elliott at or kermit@cfshsv.com. K/C COUNCIL BOSTON BUTT FUNDRAISER with proceeds supporting the Parish Youth Group and area homeless. A fully cooked 8 to 9 pound Boston Butt will available for pickup from 1-3 pm on June 23 rd. Cost is $35.00 per Butt. Donations will also be accepted to help provide Boston Butts to Feed the Homeless. All orders must be prepaid by June 17th. Order forms are available in the church office. ARE YOU INTERESTED IN LEARNING HOW TO SOLVE THE RUBIK S CUBE? Those interested are invited to contact MervEberhardt@knology.net or about informal tutorials on a systematic technique to solve the Rubik s Cube in 8 basic steps. Our Knights of Columbus Council is sponsoring this effort. Rubik s Cubes will be provided to the first ones to express interest in this program. A E.
