3 astoral Greeting ASTOR LARSON Worship Song Better Is One Day How lovely is Your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty. For my soul longs and even faints for You. For here my heart is satisfied within Your presence. I sing beneath the shadow of Your wings. Better is one day in Your courts, better is one day in Your house, better is one day in Your courts than thousands elsewhere. Better is one day in Your courts, better is one day in Your house, better is one day in Your courts than thousands elsewhere, than thousands elsewhere. One thing I ask and I would seek: To see Your beauty, to find You in the place Your glory dwells. One thing I ask and I would seek: To see Your beauty, to find You in the place Your glory dwells. Better is one day in Your courts, better is one day in Your house, better is one day in Your courts than thousands elsewhere. Better is one day in Your courts, better is one day in Your house, better is one day in Your courts than thousands elsewhere. My heart and flesh cry out for You, the Living God. Your Spirit's water to my soul. I've tasted, and I've seen. ome once again to me. I will draw near to You. I will draw near to You, to You. Better is one day in Your courts, better is one day in Your house, better is one day in Your courts than thousands elsewhere. Better is one day in Your courts, better is one day in Your house, better is one day in Your courts than thousands elsewhere, than thousands elsewhere. INVOATION AND OENING VERSILES In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son. God said, This is My beloved Son; listen to Him. Open our ears, Lord, that we may hear; open our hearts that we may listen and obey. Our help is in the name of the LORD. who made heaven and earth.
4 ONFESSION and ABSOLUTION Sisters and brothers in hrist, God has gathered us together as His children, and has spoken to us through His Son. Even though we have often heard with our ears, we have not listened with our hearts. We have not honored and obeyed Him with our words and actions. We have not glorified Him with our lives. Let us confess our sins before Him, and ask for His forgiveness. Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to Your abundant mercy blot out my sins. Wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin! For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned and done what is evil in Your sight, so that You may be justified in Your words and blameless in Your judgment. God has heard our prayer and set us free from sin and death. He sent His only Son to be born as a human, to die in our place, and to rise again to new life for our forgiveness and salvation. As a called and ordained servant of the Word, and at the command and promise of our Lord Jesus hrist, I forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. raise Song Blessed Be The Rock! Blessed be the Rock of my salvation, blessed be the Rock of my salvation; For the Lord is on my side, and He s made His victory mine, Blessed be the Rock of my salvation! Blessed be the Rock! Blessed be the Rock! Blessed be the Rock! Blessed be the Rock! Blessed be the Rock of my salvation! (REEAT) rayer of the Day The Lord be with you. And also with you. Let us pray. O God, in the glorious transfiguration of Your beloved Son, You confirmed the mysteries of the faith by the testimony of Moses and Elijah. In the voice that came from the bright cloud You wonderfully foreshowed our adoption by grace. Mercifully make us co-heirs with the King in His glory and bring us to the fullness of our inheritance in heaven; through the same Jesus hrist, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
5 SERVIE OF THE WORD Old Testament: Deuteronomy 34:1-12 Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of isgah, across from Jericho. There the LORD showed him the whole land from Gilead to Dan, all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the western sea,a the Negev and the whole region from the Valley of Jericho, the ity of alms, as far as Zoar. Then the LORD said to him, "This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, `I will give it to your descendants.' I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it." And Moses the servant of the LORD died there in Moab, as the LORD had said. He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth eor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is. Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone. The Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the time of weeping and mourning was over. Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the LORD had commanded Moses. Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, who did all those miraculous signs and wonders the LORD sent him to do in Egypt--to haraoh and to all his officials and to his whole land. For no one has ever shown the mighty power or performed the awesome deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel. L The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God! Epistle: Hebrews 3:1-6 Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess. He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God's house. Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Moses was faithful as a servant in all God's house, testifying to what would be said in the future. But hrist is faithful as a son over God's house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast. L The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God!
6 Alleluia Verse ongregation, please stand. Alleluia, alleluia, Alle, alle, alle, alleluia. Alle, alle, alle, alleluia. Alle, alle, alle, alleluia. Alleluia, alleluia, Alle, alle, alle, alleluia. Alle, alle, alle, alleluia. Alle, alle, alle, alleluia. Alleluia The Holy Gospel: Luke 9:28-36 The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke, the ninth chapter. Glory to You, O Lord. About eight days after Jesus said this, he took eter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. eter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. As the men were leaving Jesus, eter said to him, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters--one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." (He did not know what he was saying.) While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. A voice came from the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him." When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves, and told no one at that time what they had seen. The Gospel of the Lord. raise to You, O hrist. hildren s Meditation

ASTOR LARSON Text: II orinthians 4:1-6 Apostles reed LSB (Inside back-cover) rayer of the hurch Let us pray for the whole people of God in hrist Jesus, and for all people according to their needs. For the whole hurch: may all who bear the name of hrist serve Him with joy and confidence. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Lord of Glory, on the mountaintop You revealed Your glory to Your disciples. Too many times, it seems that we take You for granted, and do not allow Your glory to show through us. Lord, In Your mercy, hear our prayer. For leaders of nations: may the Lord who searches all hearts and knows the intentions of all, guide all in authority of government into the ways of peace, safety, and freedom. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. For husbands and wives: may their life together be blessed with wisdom, purity, self-sacrifice, and love. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. For all who are in any need, adversity, or sickness (especially. ). May the Lord who knows our needs before we even ask Him provide mercy, peace, and healing. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. May all who commune in hrist's body and blood this day have confidence in the Lord's forgiveness and strength. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. 8 THE OFFERING ongregational Song Forever Reign You are good, You are good, when there s nothing good in me. You are love, You are love, on display for all to see. You are light, You are light, when the darkness closes in. You are hope, You are hope, You have covered all my sin. You are peace, You are peace, when my fear is crippling. You are true, You are true, even in my wandering. You are joy, You are joy, You re the reason that I sing. You are life, You are life, in You death has lost its sting. REFRAIN Oh, I m running to your arms, I m running to your arms. The riches of Your love will always be enough. Nothing compares to Your embrace. Light of the world, forever reign. You are more, You are more, than my words will ever say. You are Lord, You are Lord, all creation will proclaim. You are here, you are here, in Your presence I m made whole. You are God, You are God; Of all else I m letting go. REFRAIN I m running to your arms, I m running to your arms. The riches of Your love will always be enough. Nothing compares to Your embrace. Light of the world, forever reign. My heart will sing, no other Name, Jesus, Jesus. My heart will sing, no other Name, Jesus, Jesus. REFRAIN Offertory rayer Let us pray, Heavenly Father, receive these gifts, symbols of the time, abilities, and resources we place at Your disposal in thanks for Your eternal grace, mercy, and peace. Receive them for the sake of Your Son, Jesus hrist our Lord. Amen.
9 SERVIE OF THE SARAMENT The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give Him thanks and praise. It is truly good, right, and salutary that we should at all times and in all places give thanks to You, holy Lord, almighty Father, everlasting God, through Jesus hrist, our Lord, who at His transfiguration revealed His glory to His disciples that they might be strengthened to proclaim His cross and resurrection and with all the faithful look forward to the glory of life everlasting. Therefore with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven we laud and magnify your glorious name, evermore praising You and saying: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might: Heaven and earth are full of Your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. The Words of onsecration In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me. Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me. For as often as we eat of this bread and drink from this cup, we proclaim the Lord s death until he comes.

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind; Sight, riches, healing of the mind, Yea, all I need in Thee to find, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. 14 On this day, alleluias are sung for the last time in the hurch until the Resurrection of our Lord. Alleluia is not heard during Lent as we turn in penitence to the assion of our Lord, Jesus hrist, to be renewed in our baptismal faith. Though every Sunday is a little Easter, we restrain our praise at this time until Easter Sunday, the Feast of the Resurrection, when all of hristendom joins in singing alleluias to our King. Let us now raise our voices in song as we anticipate not only our coming Easter celebration, but that ultimate Feast of Victory where we will all sing alleluia with saints and angels, cherubim and seraphim, Moses and Elijah, apostles, martyrs, prophets and all the company of heaven before the Lamb on His throne. The ALLELUIA banner is removed during the hymn and will return on Easter Sunday. THE ALLELUIA BANNER IS REMOVED AND ARRIED OUT Benediction Song Build Your Kingdom Here ome set Your rule, and reign In our hearts again. Increase in us, we pray.
