No church shall be entitled to more than ten messengers for any session.
2 Northshore Church News Bedico (Ponchatoula) will host the gospel group The Craguns Sunday, August 13, at 6 p.m. A love offering will be taken. Dustin Stockstill is pastor. Mandeville s First Baptist preschoolers, children, and students will promote to the next grade for Sunday morning Life Groups August 6. A Back to School Splash that afternoon from 3:00-5:00 will serve as a registration event for AWANA and Children s Choirs. AWANA returns for school term beginning August 16. A deacon ordination service will be held at 6 p.m. on August 20. Dave Ramsey s Financial Peace University begins in September. Ken Schroeder is pastor. Immanuel (Hammond) will host a Messiah in the Passover time of worship on Sunday, August 20, beginning at 10:45 a.m. This time of worship will be led by Peter Shirokov of the Chosen People Ministries based out of New York City. Following the traditional Passover Seder table an open Lord's Supper will be observed. A love offering will be received for Peter and the Chosen People Ministry. Pastor is Mark Goree. First (Slidell) will start AWANA with a kick-off celebration Wednesday, August 23, at 5:45 p.m. The AWANA program will continue on Wednesday evenings from September to May. Fall Ladies Bible Studies will begin Thursday, August 24. They will meet at 9:15 a.m. for fellowship time and Bible studies will begin at 9:30 a.m. Please contact the church office at for more information. Senior Adult Sonshine Club will meet Friday, August 25, and Friday, September 29, at 12 noon. Pastor is Casey Stark. Ridge Memorial (Slidell) pastor Paul Dabdoub reports the church has been experiencing revival type services with many visitors and life changing decisions and they give the Lord the glory. Slidell Baptist Seminary had their annual graduation on June 4. Graduates came from as far away as New Castle, Wyoming, Mount Vernon, New York, and as close as Hammond, Louisiana. The ladies were so hospitable in serving the graduates and their families at the yearly banquet. The men worked together in making sure there were enough extra chairs and took care of the parking organization. Pastor Dabdoub expressed his pride in the men and woman of the church. Natalbany Baptist will honor their pastor, Rodney Taylor, Sunday, August 6, at 2 p.m. for 60 years in the ministry and 40 years at Natalbany Baptist. New Zion (Covington) will have Marvelous Mondays every Monday night at 7 p.m. in August with a different preacher and music leader each night. Preachers will be Shannon Burns on August 7, Paul Dabdoub on August 14, Acy Barber on August 21, and Dale Patterson on August 28. Woodland Park (Hammond) will present Judgement House on Wednesday, August 2; Friday, August 4; Saturday, August 5; Wednesday, August 9; Friday, August 11; and Saturday, August 12. Tour times are Wednesdays 6:00-8:40 p.m., Fridays 5:40-9:20 p.m., and Saturdays 5:00-9:20 p.m. Admission is free and walk-ins are welcome. Scott Thompson is pastor. Jerusalem (Hammond) had a successful VBS with 70 children enrolled. The Children s Ministry garage sale in July raised over $2,200 for next year s camp. The church celebrated a Family Fun Day and had a special offering for Pure Water, Pure Love on July 30. Two baptisms are scheduled for August. Pastor is Phil Weaver. 5 June marked the 2017 Northshore Baptist Association World Changers event. Over 160 youth and adult leaders from around the country descended upon families to bring the compassion of Jesus Christ to residents in the Northshore area and much needed repairs and work on their homes for the week.
