We are blessed and highly favoured. ACKNOWLEDGING THE LAND: This morning, like many mornings, we gather in this place, built by the work of our ancestors on the traditional lands of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois), Ojibway/Chippewa & Anishinabek First Nations. We give thanks for all people, especially the First Nations of this land, for their grace and willingness to share, and pray that we will continue to work to build and deepen right relationship of mutual respect and love, today and always. 3 PEACE & THE WORD SILENCE HYMN: VU#664 What a Friend We Have in Jesus Collier s Kids are invited to gather as the hymn is sung for a talk and prayer. 1 What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer. 2 Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful, who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer. 3 Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Christ the Saviour is our refuge; take it to the Lord in prayer. Only believe, and Christ shall be your all in all eternally. A NEW CREED (vv pg. 918) We are not alone, we live in God s world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. PENTECOST

6 We are called to be the Church: to celebrate God s presence, to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God. Hewitt will be having two preparation meetings on March 13 & 27 at 7 pm at Collier.
