3 Continuing our year-long exploration of that universal question Who am I? we will fi rst explore the infl uence of our family relationships on our Christian identity in the Season of Epiphany. During Lent, we will delve into the fact that we will all die and look to how that might inform how we live. Finally, in the Easter Season we will look into our identity as people of prayer. I am Who I Love Sunday, January 11, 2015 Love is such an abstract concept. We use the same word to describe what we think and feel about God, our children, and pizza. Sunday, January 18, 2015 Epiphany Series I am My Relationships There is no question that the family in which we were raised has shaped us, supported us, and even wounded us. How can we choose to be enriched, rather than impeded, by those relationships? Sunday, January 25, 2015 Annual Parish Meeting 9:30 a.m. Parish Hall I am My Children Sunday, February 1, 2015 In the United States, we live in a child-centered world. Many of us place, perhaps unknowingly, a huge emotional burden on our children to fill all the emptiness and unfinished dreams of our own hearts. How can we untangle this mess and love and parent our children in healthy, life-giving ways? PRESENTER: Wes Eades is a frequent facilitator for St. Paul s Christian Formation programs and is a psychotherapist practicing in Waco. PRESENTER: Dr. Heyward Green, clinical psychologist with Baylor Scott and White Healthcare in Waco. WEDNESDAY NIGHT PROGRAM Family Systems Workshop January 21, :30 p.m. Family Systems Theory is an approach to understanding how relationships in families affect mental health. This workshop will cover the basic ideas that have emerged from this approach and invite participants to reflect on how these ideas apply to their own families. PRESENTER: Wes Eades is a frequent facilitator for St. Paul s Christian Formation programs and is a psychotherapist practicing in Waco. I am Where I Fit In Sunday, February 8, 2015 Are you aware of where you fit in and where you don t? Are you aware of how much energy you put into trying to fit in? Sometimes we come to believe that if we are accepted by some group we admire it must mean we are admirable as well. PRESENTER: Stephanie L. Burnett, M.Ed., LPC is a counselor who works one-on -one with clients, helping them find their own solutions while supporting them through their growth and change. She is also a professional school counselor with the Bruceville-Eddy Independent School District, so she enjoys working with students in all stages of development and has experience working with school-related issues that many children may face.

4 I am where I Belong Sunday, February 15, 2015 The need to belong is very fundamental to our sense of well-being and contentment. Sure, we re all told that we belong to the only club that really matters: The Kingdom of God. But that doesn t mean we don t wrestle with where we belong in our day-to-day lives. Ash Wednesday February 18, 2015 WORSHIP SCHEDULE: 7:00 A.M. 8:15 A.M. 12:10 P.M. 7:00 P.M. WITH MUSIC Lenten Series In Dying, We Live. I am Going to Die. Now What? Sunday, February 22, 2015 Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return. These words from the Ash Wednesday liturgy remind us that Christians live with this tension between living a life given to us by God and knowing there is a death we cannot avoid. This session will look into the theology of life, death, and dying. PRESENTER: The Rev. Dr. Chuck Treadwell, Rector, St. Paul s. I am What I Have (Part 3) Sunday, March 8, 2015 We return to a subject we looked at in September when we explored the culture of acquisition in which we live. This class will assist us in developing a strategy for dealing with the things in our lives. PRESENTER: James and Elisa Rainey are attorneys with the firm of Rainey & Rainey. Their practice focuses on elder law, including estate planning and other issues we face as we age. I am My Relationships (Part 2) Sunday, March 15, 2015 I am What I Have (Part 2) Sunday, March 1, 2015 In this session we will review the paperwork, both personal and financial, that we should organize in advance to assist our families upon our death. PRESENTER: Pat Millar, Attorney at Law, is a Trust Officer at Community Band & Trust, Waco, and has been a member of St. Paul s since Death can leave unfinished business in our relationships. We will look into why, who, and how we can avoid leaving unresolved issues between friends and family. PRESENTER: Dr. Rod Hetzel is a Licensed Psychologist at Waco Psychological Associates and an Adjunct Professor of Practical Theology at George W. Truett Theological Seminary. He is a Benedictine Oblate at New Camaldoli Hermitage in Big Sur, California. As a psychologist, he uses evidence-based psychological treatments with contemplative practices to help adults and couples with a wide range of life problems.

5 WEDNESDAY NIGHT PROGRAM Will Workshop March 18, :30 p.m. The Book of Common Prayer notes that it is the duty of Christian parents to make prudent provision for the well-being of their families, specifically referencing the establishment of wills. An overview of the practical steps of will development will be given. Presenter: Cara Chase practices elder law with the firm of Naman, Howell, Smith & Lee, PLLC, and offices in both Waco and Temple, Texas. She received her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1993 and her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Spanish from Vanderbilt University in She currently serves as the Treasurer and Vice President of the Waco Foundation Board of Trustees. She has been married to George Chase for 20 years and they have two daughters, Claire, a junior, and Ellie, a freshman, who both attend Reicher Catholic High School. I am what I Have Done and Left Undone Sunday, March 22, 2015 Jesus preached a message of forgiveness, so confession and reconciliation have long been among the acts of the Church. In this session we will explore preparation for the administration of the rite of Reconciliation of a Penitent for those desirous to pursue this Episcopal rite of confession. P R E S E N T E R: The Rev Mark T. Crawford is currently the Interim Rector at St. Mark s Church, Beaumont. He was educated at SMU and studied theology at Oxford University. He earned his D. Min degree at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He has been a priest for 32 years and has served numerous parishes in the Diocese of Texas including Church of the Holy Spirit, Waco. I am Buried with Christ Sunday, March 29, 2015 As we near the end of the Lenten season, this session will explore the theology of Holy Week. PRESENTER: The Rev. Erin Jean Warde, Curate and College Missioner, St. Paul s, Assistant Rector. 6 Easter Series - I am How I Pray. WEDNESDAY NIGHT PROGRAM Tools of Prayer April 15, :30 p.m. The Praxis or Practice of prayer for real 21st century Christians: to become aware of various prayer aids and methods that may be used to fully integrate into one s life (24/7) the experience of prayer. PRESENTER: Clint Capers A graduate and current faculty member of the diocesan academic program for spiritual directors, called Formation IN Direction (FIND), with 10 years experience as a spiritual director and facilitator of small, on-going adult Christian spiritual formation groups. I am How I Worship Sunday, April 19, 2015 Worship is prayer shared between the clergy, the entire congregation, and God. While some aspects of worship involve personal piety, worship is the prayer and vocation of the priesthood of all believers. I am How I Pray Sunday, April 26, 2015 PRESENTER: The Rev. Sharron Cox, Curate. St. Paul s In this session we will explore prayer as the means for growth, praise, thanksgiving, and entering into the heart of God. PRESENTER: Jessica Attas Prior to coming back to Waco, Jessica served as Director of Christian Education and Spiritual Formation for the Episcopal church in Cuernavaca, Mexico. She is currently a Postulant for Holy Orders to be heading soon to seminary for ordination, and enjoying her work with AVANCE Waco in the meantime. I am What I Pray For Sunday, May 3, 2015 If prayer is the means by which we enter into the heart of God, who and what we pray for matters. This session will look at the subject of our prayers. I am How I Serve Sunday, May 10, 2015 PRESENTER: After a career in nonprofits, Elizabeth Smith now focuses on faith, family, and fun. She especially enjoys the Benedictine Study Group and Centering Prayer. For most Christians, prayer does not lead to isolation from the world but a deeper engagement with the world. Service to the church and to others welling up from a place of deep prayer leads to transformation. PRESENTER: Ashley Bean Thornton manages Act Locally Waco ( a website for people who want to get involved in making Waco a terrific place to live. She also volunteers on various committees including the Health and Financial Stability steering committees of Prosper Waco and the metrics committee of the Reintegration Roundtable. She is a member at Lake Shore Baptist Church and works at Baylor as the Director for Continuous Improvement.

7 But if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. The death he died, he died to sin, once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Romans 6: 8-11
