12 MITE WALK The Minnesota North Lutheran Women s Missionary League will convene for District Convetnion at Bemidfi MN, from June Sandy Machula will serve as our Trinity Delelgate to the gathering, and she will participate in the Mite Walk event. Pleadges and checks from the congregation will be accepted gratefully. Checks should be written to LWML MN NORTH DISTRICT. A table will be set up in the narthex for this between services today and June 10th. The Flowers in the Chancel today are in honor and celebration of Carl and Helen Oltz s 50 th Wedding Anniversary. These have been placed by their family, Peggy, Brit, Darian and Elle Dieterich, and Mark Oltz. Praise the Lord for the gift of Godly marriage! Congratulations Carl and Helen! Jesus Has Defeated the Devil and Released Us from the Bondage of Sin and Death The devil deceived us, enticing us to disregard and disobey the Word of God and driving us to hide from the presence of the Lord God. But the Lord, in His mercy, promised a Savior, who would set Himself against the devil on our behalf (Gen. 3:8 15). The Son of Man came, the incarnate Son of God, conceived and born of the woman. He first binds the strong man, Satan, by atoning for the sins of the world, thereby removing the condemnation of the Law and the fear of death (Mark 3:27). Now He plunders the devil s house by calling all men to repent. Though He appears to be out of his mind (Mark 3:21), He fulfills the will of God and makes of us His own brothers and sisters. Therefore, we do not lose heart, despite the suffering, sin and death that we experience in this fallen world. He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus. By His grace, we are being renewed day by day. For the Gospel is daily bringing us into His presence, not for punishment, but for an eternal weight of glory (2 Cor. 4:14 17). Join us for our annual Lutheran Night at the Twins baseball outing on Tuesday, July 31st, with the Twins playing the Cleveland Indians! Based on feedback from previous years, a little more expensive tickets have been ordered for better seating. Seats are in Section 128, just above left field fence. Your $40 ticket includes your ticket to the game, hot dogs and chips served at the church at 4:45pm, along with your bus ride leaving the church at 5:15pm and dropping you off right at Target Field and bringing you back to Holy Cross! A sign-up sheet is in the narthex. Please include your name and number of tickets needed. Payment may be left in the office by July 1st, please. Sign up now!! 11

13 DATE CHANGE: Women's Bible Study will not meet June 13th. We encourage you to attend the town hall meeting that evening. We will meet on Tuesday June 12th and Wednesday June 27th from 6 to 7:30pm. We will gather for fellowship with other church members on July 11th for the outdoor celebration. If you have any questions contact Jenny Sprengeler, or jsprengeler@gmail.com New Church Properties Committee The new Church Properties Committee met for the first time on May 29 th. Members of the committee are Russell Kath, Arden Holzheimer, Connie Mooney, Sandy Molitor, John Nack and Randy Heyne. The meeting included a devotion, introductions and a review of the board objectives. They are planning to meet again on June 25 th to continue their work of maintaining our church. Thank the Lord for these willing servants who stepped forward to serve on the new committee. Mark your calendars for the evening of Wednesday, June 13th at 6:00 for our THM #2, the evening of July 4th. We will be having a get-together in the parking lot before the fireworks. Also, for the evening of Wednesday, July 11 th - 5:00 supper, 6:00 outdoor service and 7:30 bonfire. Today s Radio Broadcast is sponsored by John & Judy Heintze in honor of Judy s birthday. Due to increasing maintenance costs and doing business in general, the cemetery association will be increasing the cost of burial plots. This increase will take place on July 1, NOTE: You must be an LCMS member to purchase grave spaces at our cemetery in Sauk Rapids. All single and multiple spaces will be sold in chronological order. 15 Attention all involved in a group, ministry, etc. at Trinity: Please a synopsis of your group to (office@trinitysr.org) covering group name/title, who, what, where, why, how and leader name(s), and phone number. We are wanting to get this information archived and available to all at Trinity. One of the results of our THM was that we all really lacked knowledge of several groups in our own church. We want to know more about them. One of the common themes is that we have most of the same people spearheading most of the activities, groups and such at church. WE NEED MORE INVOLVEMENT! We also discussed how to get more involvement as this develops a lot through relationship-building and/or social activities through Trinity that involve everyone (seniors, youth of all ages, parents, singles, couples, empty-nesters, grandparents...). Being that we have already established a social foundation through Wednesday nights with God's Grub, Advent and Lenten suppers, confirmation and music we've decided that we need to build off of this in a bold way! We are hoping to have these bloomed ideas in motion by this-coming fall. With that said, we (ALL of us) need to roll up our sleeves and put in some elbow grease over the summer. Our next scheduled meeting is Wednesday, June 13th at 6:00 in the fellowship hall. Having said this, we need YOU there and your KIDS!!! Please make a strong effort to attend and if you have children, bring them as well. Your input is extremely wanted by all who want to grow in Christ. In the meantime: Adults, please start engaging with our youth (other than your own). Strike up a conversation... ask them what school they attend, what grade they're in. Invest in them a little by asking them to join us for bible study, cooking in the kitchen, cleaning, setting up, greeting, handing out bulletins, etc. Members, we need to engage more with visitors, new members and those who may be struggling. Please make a strong effort each week by stepping a bit outside your box to say "hi" and introduce yourself to someone you don't know yet. Lutheran Hour Ministries is a Christian outreach ministry affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, Lutheran Church Canada, and Lutheran Women in Mission. If you leave the service you can go to the lobby or use the large conference room across from the church office. The conference room has speakers and one-way glass so you can still participate in Worship. During the 9:30am worship service the nursery is also available for 0-3 years old. It is not staffed but you are welcome to stay in the room with your child. It is the first classroom on the left as you enter the Preschool parent lounge area. There are also speakers in the nursery so you can listen to the service. Activity bags for young children to use are in the plastic tub outside the church office.
