4 July 3, 2016 We Remember... Our Deceased Relatives and Friends July 4 Mary Honerlaw 7 Edith Schreibeis 9 Kay Toeng Tan St. Michael Church Sharonville, Ohio Next Week s Readings Readings for the Upcoming Week Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time "Whatever town you enter and they welcome you, eat what is set before you, cure the sick in it and say to them, 'The kingdom of God is at hand for you.'" - Lk 10:8-9 Excerpts from the Lectionary for Mass 2001, 1998, 1970 CCD. In Today s Gospel Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time "The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest." Can we be counted among the laborers? Are we ready and willing to work for the sake of our faith, or are we looking for the easy way out? Our faith is more than a personal experience. It's more than a routine that fits into our weekly schedule. Our faith is meant to be shared with others, even when that requires a bit of work on our part. In today's Gospel, Jesus calls his followers to "Go on your way," to prepare people for the Lord. And we are called to do the same. We are meant to go on our way out of our homes, and even out of our churches to share the good news of the Gospel and to serve those in need. It can be tempting to think, "I believe, I go to church, isn't that enough?" But Jesus tells us that there is an abundant harvest out there countless people who may just need to know that Jesus loves them or that someone is willing to help. If we don't step up to the task then those people will miss out on that word of encouragement, that personal invitation to Mass, that act of kindness that might have made all the difference in their life. God may be calling some of us to an even deeper commitment to be a lay minister in a parish or to discern a religious vocation, for example but there is no doubt that God is calling all of us to labor for his kingdom in some way. This mission isn't for someone else. It's for us to carry out the work of the disciples because we are today's disciples. When we accept this mission, we will not only enjoy seeing the benefits that others receive, we will also rejoice with those whose "names are written in heaven." Liturgical Publications 4

Table Hosts Needed for Upcoming Banquet Elizabeth's New Life Center is a faith-based pro-life nonprofit organization, which operates 7 women's centers throughout the Greater Dayton and Cincinnati areas. Each women's center is equipped to help women in crisis pregnancies choose life for their unborn child. Two of our women's centers are located in the Cincinnati area, one in Lebanon and one in Sharonville. To help raise the funds necessary to keep our life-saving work going, we hold a fall partnership banquet in the southern area. This year's banquet will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Sharonville Convention Center. The featured speaker is Star Parker. Star is a pro-life activist who has personally experienced the tragedy of abortion and is an outspoken advocate against policies that promote abortion. Table hosting is fun and easy, a few responsibilities of a table host would include: inviting like-minded friends and family to the banquet who would be interested in hearing more about ENLC, attending the banquet and greeting your guests, distributing information to your guests after dinner and collecting donations from your guests. If this is something that you feel God is calling you to do, please contact Barb Garrison at Ext. 330 or at bgarrison@elizabethnewlife.org to register to host a table. 10 July 3, 2016 St. Michael Church Sharonville, Ohio Children s Corner Grades K-1 Sharing the Gospel - Jesus told his apostles, "If the people of a town welcome you, eat whatever they offer. They may give you bread and water. They may share fish, meats, fruits, and vegetables with you. Heal their sick." The apostles were given the power to heal others. Many scientists search for new medicines to cure diseases. When you pray for others, God hears your prayers. God's love and forgiveness can heal the body, mind, and soul of the sick. Prayer - Lord, help me heal others with kind words. Something to Draw - Draw yourself putting a Band-Aid on your brother or sister. Mission for the Week - Each morning I will pray for doctors, nurses, and scientists who cure the sick PO Box , New Berlin, WI x2469 LPiResourceCenter.com Grades 2-3 Sharing the Gospel - Jesus sent out 72 of his followers to spread the good news about God. They were not to bring anything with them - no food, no extra clothes or shoes, not even money to spend. They were to visit strangers and completely depend on God to give them what they needed. That took a lot of faith! Prayer - Dear God, help me to remember that you will give me what I need. Something to Draw - Draw a picture of yourself telling a friend about Jesus. Mission for the Week - Make a card for one of your neighbors, and tell that person, "Jesus loves you!" PO Box , New Berlin, WI x2469 LPiResourceCenter.com 10
