The food pantry is especially in need of canned protein or other non-perishable main dish items. Other items that are appreciated are toilet paper, bars of soap, and shampoo. Items can be dropped off in the narthex or the parish hall. Weekly Bible Study, Apologetics and Social Group is back. We meet at the Dorsey s home on Thursdays at 7pm Brown Rd, Canyon, Sausage Festival News Please remember your Country Store for the Festival again with canned jellies, hot sauce, pickles, and as always baked goods including bread, bread, bread. Call Jude or Marian and or jaydubya89@gmail.com. Bread Bakers, please have your bread at the hall by noon Saturday, November 12. Please have the bread thawed. The machine will not slice frozen or fresh from the oven bread. Therefore, it is very important to have your bread thawed. If you would like to donate cash for the purchase of beef/pork for sausage, please contact Blake & Stephanie Crockett or Brandon & Tina Finke Jacob & Rachel Batenhorst are collecting donations to raffle off at the festival. St. Ann s in Bovina is hosting their annual Thanksgiving dinner on November 6 from 11:30 am to 2 pm in their parish hall, 401 3rd Street. $12 for adults and $6 for children under 6. Encounter With God s Call is a seminary discernment retreat for high school juniors through college-age men who are curious about seminary or who are discerning the priesthood. Encounter is a time to discern God s will for your life and to make a visit to our Seminary. Come encounter Christ and his call to priestly ministry in the quiet setting of Conception Abbey in northwestern Missouri. Retreatants pray the Liturgy of the Hours and attend Sunday Mass with seminarians and the monastic community. (Version of ACTS in Prison) Two Kolbe Prison Retreats have been schedule for next year of The first one, God willing, will be held at the Clements Unit on January 26-28, of 2017 and the 2nd one has been schedule for March 23rd to March 25th at the Neal Unit. The first retreat held at the Clements Unit will be directed by the Hill Country Kolbe Retreat Prison Ministries from the Archdiocese of San Antonio. These men, are all KC and ACTS team members. The Director for our first Kolbe Retreat will be Jeremy Itz assisted by Larry Reeh. The Kolbe Retreats were adapted from the ACTS Retreats and from what I hear are pretty similar to the Acts Retreats and directed by ACTS directors. We are inviting and asking for the support of 30 men (Volunteers) from the ACTS Community, KC, and Cursillo Community to make this retreats possible.
