This post-graduate programme is for any graduate with basic counselling skills who now wishes to train as a counsellor. Leading to awards by the University of Roehampton, this MA takes our unique, biblicallybased training of Christian counsellors to a higher level. 4 Pastoral care and counselling Developing Pastoral Care Led by Philip Greenslade with Andy Peck and Team This day-release course, comprising eleven sessions, five days in the autumn and six in the spring, is for those seeking to further their understanding and practice of pastoral care. It builds on the idea that good pastoral care is about helping people see the whole of their lives in the light of who Christ has made them to be and how this is lived out in the local church and the situation in which God has placed them. The aim is to give you a broader biblical vision of pastoral care, seeing yourself and your service in the context of the new creation God has made you to be and how you partner with Him in the care of His people. Based on Paul s letter to the Ephesians, the course will draw out the deeper biblical principles underlying pastoral care. Each day includes Bible teaching from Ephesians by Philip Greenslade. Themes arising from that day s Ephesians passage will subsequently be explored in talks, discussion groups and workshops. 5 Pastoral care and counselling CWR S COUNSELLING TRAINING BA (HONS) COUNSELLING Offering training to the highest professional standards within a proven Christian framework, this lifetransforming five-year part-time programme is led by our CWR team of recognised university lecturers and highly experienced counselling practitioners who will ensure that you are equipped as graduates to practise, in line with expected voluntary regulation, at the leading edge of the counselling profession. The programme offers you the flexibility to study to whichever level you choose and to exit with awards validated by the University of Roehampton. MA COUNSELLING CWR also now has approval from the University of Roehampton to offer a two-year part-time MA Counselling programme from October Available initially in the UK (), this programme will be for graduates of any discipline who have acquired basic counselling skills and now wish to train as counsellors at postgraduate level within a proven Christian framework. This should be particularly attractive for those in pastoral and health professions, who wish to be equipped to practise as counsellors. Also approved for offer in autumn 2014, an MA in Relational Counselling and Psychotherapy for experienced counsellors. Certificate of Christian Counselling (ACC level 3) This one-year course, offered over one week and nine weekends, will equip you with the knowledge and skills for helping people within a clear biblical framework. It forms Year 1 of the BA Counselling Programme, and allows for progression in the programme if you subsequently choose that option. This is an excellent foundation for pastoral care ministry as well as for further counselling training within the BA or MA Counselling Programmes. For courses longer than one weekend a 100 deposit or the full fee is payable on application. The deposit amount is non-refundable once CWR has confirmed your booking in writing. The balance of the fee must be paid at least six weeks prior to the event or in full on application if you are applying later than this. Different terms apply to courses on page 8 9. Please note there is a 3% surcharge on payments by credit card. Cancellations Day/evening events are non-refundable. For courses one weekend and longer, should you cancel your booking, we offer the following refunds on the balance (deposit non-refundable): ten weeks or more prior to event = 60%; six weeks or more prior to event = 40%; two to five weeks or more prior to event = 20%; less than two weeks prior to event = Nil. We strongly recommend that you consider taking out insurance to cover the possibility of such a cancellation. CWR s Terms and Conditions CWR reserves the right to cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances or low numbers, in which case fees are fully refundable. However, CWR is not liable for other expenses the applicant may have incurred. CWR also reserves the right to refuse registration to anyone it considers unsuitable for a course. Pilgrim Hall offers both shared, en-suite bedrooms and single bedrooms with separate bathrooms. Details of local Bed and Breakfast accommodation are available on request, if you prefer. Mobility Waverley Abbey House is a listed (Grade 2*) property and the first floor (where courses are held) and the second and third floors (where bedrooms are located) are reached by stairs only. Therefore those with significant mobility challenges may not be able to access these floors. At Pilgrim Hall, sessions are held on the ground floor which has level access. Bedrooms are on the ground, first and second floors. A lift is available to most first floor bedrooms.
