1 2017 FALL NEWSLETTER St. Isidore Confirmation Year One Fall Newsletter Welcome to Confirmaon Year One! V OLUME 15 ISSUE 1 Welcome to Year One of the St. Isidore Confirmation program. This newsletter describes the eight fall workshops and a few ongoing service opportunities. In order to fulfill the Confirmation Year One requirement, you need to participate in 24 hours of activities over the entire year. You will receive two newsletters, Fall (this one) and winter in early During the school year, there will be a minimum of 20 to 25 different ways to be an active member of the community of St. Isidore. Before you know it, you will have those 24 hours and many, many more! Sign ups for the fall workshops start at 5:00pm Wednesday September 20th. To sign up go to goo.gl/98ekdk after 5pm on 9/20. Don t delay workshops fill up fast. Throughout the year I will be texting out Confirmation year one reminders and service opportunities. It will open up the world in which Jesus lived and preached His Father s word. Walk along with the apostles as we learn about the inception of the Catholic Church, the papacy, and the sacraments. Sunday evenings 7:00 to 8:30 PM Starting Date: Sunday, October 15 Location: St. Isidore School room 110 Leader: Barbara Hooper Workshop #4 Altaration Altaration the mystery of the Mass revealed. This workshop is designed to stir thought, create conversation, dispel myths and inspire young souls to a deep and lasting love for the Mass. If you find Mass boring, this workshop is for you. This workshop looks at some classic movies and how they handled challenging moral dilemmas. Every week a new theme will inspire you as you continue your journey toward Confirmation. Student Led Conversations An honest conversation on why and what it is to be a Catholic lead by students? How does it all fit in with my High School life? Topics include: Who is involved? Life, Love & Theology of the Body In an age of selfies, You cuts through the noise to present an authentic view of the human person. It presents young people with the extraordinary story of their creation as unrepeatable individuals. This workshop goes deeper and expects more than any other workshop - think the equivalent of an High School AP class.
