17 Jaramogi Nyindodo Mum you are an inspiration to many. Your commitment to the community is missed dearly. You taught me how to respect, work hard and be hopeful during good and hard times. Your shoe is still empty and no one can fill it for it's too enormous and unique. Mum, I will alway miss you. May the lord rest your soul in peace. Esther Achieng Norwood We miss you Mom. You were the greatest Mom and still are (in spirit). When you left us a year ago, I felt part of my soul left me as well the void you left behind is deep and excruciating. You taught us to respect others, value, perseverance... Thank you for being there for us no matter what I remember all the visits and the joy in your face when you saw us Thank you! 19 February 28, 1942 Born in Kenya Nyeri on February 28, February 1, 2006 Passed away on February 1, 2006 at the age of 64. February 1, 2007 Nancy Nyawira Nyindodo (Nyagaki) was born on February 28th 1942 in Geya Gatika, Karatina, Nyeri to Mr. Chrisostom Ngunyi, and Mrs. Esther Gakenia Ngunyi. Nancy attended Tumutumu secondary school where she completed her 'O' level, and proceeded to teachers' training institute in Nyeri. Soon after working as a teacher for sometime, she decided on career change to pursue accounting. While working as an accountant in Nakuru, she met her late husband Malachi Nyindodo - they had five beautiful children. Nancy was God loving, many remember her for her role in community service. Indeed, she passed away when she was attending one of the community Based organization meetings. She inisisted on high degree of order, integrity, strictness and discipline in the running of such organizations and groups. Nyawira was a charity donor, She helped many orphans with fees, books and the like. More so she was a loving mother to her children and was proud to see them grow up to adulthood. The loving and caring trait and the fondness for providing guidance are among the points that her siblings remember and cherish.

20 She had the determination and single-mindedness to be 'chi Luo' and an integral member of the family. She learned Luo in record time; and until her death she was among those most knowledgeable of the Luo culture and customers. Nyindodo family benefited from her being among them - for that, they appreciated the diversity of other cultures. Nancy was industrious, that was evident in her farming skills, a speciality she brought with her from Kikuyu land. She also had the trait to try new farming methods, new crops, new vegetables and what have you. "JoKusa' will remember her well for promoting and providing the leadhership in 'puro opon'. She also played a critical role in reviving the practice of 'puro nam', especially during drought. This provided the much needed food and income. Nancy, may you rest in peace. Your children miss you very much, and continue to pray for your soul. Rest in Peace Mama Nancy.
