She has slaughtered her animals, she has mixed her wine, she has also set her table. She has sent out her servant girls, she calls from the highest places in the town, "You that are simple, turn in here!" To those without sense she says, "Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed. Lay aside immaturity, and live, and walk in the way of insight." If you desire to come up for a blessing instead of communion, indicate this by crossing your arms on your chest. Gluten-free communion wafers are available upon request; let the clergy know if you require these. No commitment, no need to read music, just a desire to make a joyful noise with other kindred spirits. We ll have fun and learn a few songs together each week. Those of you who are feeling adventurous on a given Sunday can hang out in the choir pews for the 10:30 service and sing one of those songs at the offertory. (Get a new perspective on the service from a new spot in the nave!) Union Station Sack Lunch Program Sunday, August 30 will be the next Union Station sandwich making event for the 9am Service. Online survey is next step in coadjutor search committee's listening process The Bishop Coadjutor Search Committee of the Diocese of Los Angeles has created an online survey to continue the "listening process" that began earlier this summer with a series of meetings throughout the diocese. The survey - available in English and Spanish - asks six questions that also were asked at the listening sessions: 1. Describe gifts, talents, and best practices your parish/mission/ministry brings to the diocese. 2. Describe issues, challenges, and struggles currently faced by your parish/mission/ministry. 3. List questions members of your parish/mission/ministry ask (or have asked) of diocesan leadership. 4. Describe gifts, talents, and best practices of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. 5. Describe issues, challenges, and struggles currently facing the diocese. 6. List the qualities, characteristics, perspectives, and preferred experiences, sensitivities, talents, and skills you would like to see in the next bishop. According to the Rev. Canon Julian Bull, chairman of the search committee, the survey is meant for those who were not able to attend a listening session. Comments made by those who did attend have already been noted, and do not need to be repeated, he said. To take the survey, visit and select the search committee link. The survey will remain available through the month of August.
