YOUTH PARISHIONER IN NEED OF YOUR ASSISTANCE My name is Myles Spencer and I am a Junior at Xavier High School in NYC. I am also a member of a group, named The Companions of Xavier Service program-cfx. CFX is about striving to be in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Also, trying to understand what Jesus was asking of us when he said, Love your neighbor. In June, I will be spending one week with Rostro de Cristo in Guayaquil, Ecuador. I am honored to be one of only eleven students chosen to represent Xavier and my community on this trip. The week is about living together as a community centered on the person of Jesus Christ. The four cornerstones of community, simplicity, prayer and service are all important aspects of the week. Rostro de Cristo is a Catholic program whose mission is to provide spiritual and educational opportunities for people of faith, to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the people of Ecuador. The purpose of this immersion program is to live with and support the Ecuadorian people. We will be working in developing communities to inspire and reinforce the commitment of the participants. We will focus on service, social justice, and solidarity, not only with the people of Ecuador, but the world. One requirement of this trip is that we raise the funds necessary to travel through donations and fundraising. I am asking you for your assistance in helping me to fund my trip to Ecuador.
