STEWARDSHIP APPEAL BALANCE: As of February 22, 2018 St. Mary s Parish contributed $6, to the Eparchial Stewardship. Our parish s goal is to reach $8, Thank you in advance and may God reward all your generosity. HELP NEEDED: Church Council needs your help for Fish Fry Fundraisers this Lenten Season! We would like to again have Friday Fish Fries this year from February 16 through March 23, 2018 but cannot do it without the help of parishioners. Please volunteer! If you can be at the Chalet on Fridays for a few hours between 2:00 and 8:00 pm, there are many areas you can assist with. From setup to cleanup; taking orders to filling orders; cooking to serving; we can use you! If you cannot be there, perhaps you can volunteer to bake desserts to sell. Please see council members for more info or call Father at the Rectory (216) ST. MARY S CLEANING CREW: Dear parishioners, we are trying to create a cleaning crew at our newly renovated church. Everyone likes to attend a church that is neat, clean and orderly. Cleaning would include dusting, cleaning light fixtures, wiping down pews, mopping the floor, etc Not everything needs to be cleaned daily or weekly (although the weekly schedule would be great) but having a schedule for routine deep cleaning is important for keeping our beautiful church fresh! We would suggest to clean our church every first Saturday morning of the month. So once a month. Everyone is welcome to join and create a new St. Mary s cleaning crew. More details will come up later. Contact info: (440) HOLY SPIRIT SENIORS: The Holy Spirit Seniors Group will hold their April monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Lunch will be served at Noon, in the Holy Spirit Church Fellowship Center, 5500 West 54th Street, Parma. Apr. 1 PASCHA RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD 9 am Procession, Matins and Divine Liturgy for *Our Parish Family Blessing of Baskets (Church basement) TRADITIONAL COLLECTION FOR THE HOLY LAND: Our Lenten journey, along with prayer and fasting, is also a time to reach out to the others through the work of charity. Each one of us is called to pause and like the Good Samaritan accompany our brethren who for many reasons find it difficult to stand up and continue their journey. This year asks all faithful parishioners, friends, and visitors to contribute to the traditional COLLECTION FOR THE HOLY LAND held on Good Friday, as it is a proper occasion for the faithful to be one with our brethren in the Holy Land and the Middle East. Unfortunately, from those territories, the outcry of thousands of persons who are deprived of everything, at times even of their own human dignity, continues to reach us, heartbreaking us and inviting us to embrace them through Christian charity, a sure source of hope. We cannot forget the thousands of families who fled from the violence of war in Syria and Iraq, among whom children and youth, a great number of them of schooling-age, who appeal to our generosity in order to resume their scholastic life and may dream of a better future. Thank you in advance and may God continue to bless you and reward all your generosity. This collection is initiated by the Congregation of Eastern Churches. MARIAPOCH GALA TO HONOR SHRINE GIVER: Gala to honor shrine caregiver; silent auction to offer $3500 Sheoga Hardwood Flooring gift certificate Social Mission Sister Adalberta Rohaly will be honored for her 37 years of dedicated service to the Shrine of Our Lady of Mariapoch at the Miracle of Mariapoch Gala fundraiser, April 14, at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, 1900 Carlton Road. The Gala will take place from 6-9:30 p.m., and it is hoped that Sister Adalberta will be able to make a cameo appearance. A video of a recent visit with her will also be shown. A small plate buffet, wine and beer included, will be served at the Gala; there will be live entertainment. Also featured at the Gala, in addition to several themed raffle baskets, will be larger-ticket items on silent auction. The highlight of the auction will be a $3500 gift certificate from Sheoga Hardwood Flooring, of Burton, Ohio. Tickets are $35 per person. 5 GOOD FRIDAY FAMILIES AND FATHERS/SONS GUARDING THE TOMB SIGN-UP: As every year on Good Friday we will have All Night Vigil praying at the Tomb of Christ. We encourage families to fill up the one hour slots and fathers with their sons to be there as needed. Come and spent one hour with your children and grandchildren praying. One day they will do the same with their children.
