Rice NICENE CREED I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven, (All bow while saying:) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. UNIVERSAL PRAYER : Lord, hear our prayer.

6 HERE AT HOLY FAMILY ALTAR AND ROSARY SOCIETY: CURRENT NEEDS Two women needed to clean the candle torches and one woman needed to clean and rotate clothes on side altars. Both assignments need to be done during church office hours to gain access to the sacristy. If interested please contact Gloria Cruze at or President and Vice President positions available starting in June. You could be one of these valuable disciples! This is a great opportunity for any two women (or two friends perhaps!) to become more active in a vital ministry to make a difference in our parish community. All supporting positions are in place with women who are experienced and knowledgeable so you will have excellent resources available. Please prayerfully consider one of these two roles. Contact Linda Wandrei to express interest or for further information at or boysnlinda@msn.com. Altar and Rosary Annual Spring Dinner and Meeting: Tuesday, May 5th, 6:30-9:00 We will start with rosary and follow it with the dinner and meeting in Moorman Hall. All women of the parish are welcome to attend as we are all members of the Altar and Rosary! This is a great way to meet many women in the parish. So find a girlfriend and join us in an evening of prayer and fellowship. We ask that you RSVP by April 30th so we can plan food accordingly. Also, women will be in the back of the church on the weekends of April 25th-26th and May 2nd-3rd after all the Masses to take names of those planning to attend. A good-will-offering will be accepted the night of the event. Any questions can be directed to Linda Wandrei at or altarandrosary@gmail.com TARGET: TAKE CHARGE OF EDUCATION Did you know that Holy Family Academy has received an average of $3,400 from Target since we started participating in Take Charge of Education in 2002? If you have a Target REDcard, simply enroll in the Take Charge of Education program and choose Holy Family Academy as your designated school. Target will donate up to 1% of your REDcard purchases to your chosen school. Ask family and friends to do the same! Thank you to all who are currently participating in this program! PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY A prayer shawl is intended to be a reminder of God s ever present love in every occasion joyful or sorrowful, when celebrating or weeping. Using the Institute of Health as its proxy, the FDA held the second of three scheduled panel discussions to help it decide, assembling experts from across the U.S. The membership of these panels and of the committee struck to consider their presentations, suggests the deck has been stacked in favour of approval. It s pretty apparent from the speakers that the panels are by and large liberals sympathetic to moving this technology forward, said David Prentice of the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute. There were lots of scientific presentations but ethicists were in the minority. This is noteworthy, said Prentice, considering the workshops are collectively titled Ethical and Social Policy Considerations of Novel Techniques for Prevention of Maternal Transmission of Mitochondrial DNA. All were organized for the FDA by the Institute of Medicine.

INVITATION TO ORDINATION AND MASS OF THANKSGIVING OF VAUGHN TRECO (MAY 3-4) Sunday, May 3rd 1:30pm Bishop Andrew Cozzens will ordain Vaughn Treco to the Holy Priesthood at the Church of the Holy Family. Soon-to-be Father Treco will serve the community of converts from the Anglican/Episcopalian tradition who have been meeting here over the past few months. This will be Bishop Cozzens' first ordination. Vaughn Treco is married with a family and will be part of the Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter which was set up by Pope Benedict XVI for the pastoral care of former Anglicans. Monday, May 4th 11:00am Father Treco will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving here and everyone is invited to attend and thank God for the gift of another priest! The liturgy will be in the special "Anglican-use" liturgical form approved by St. John Paul II as part of his pastoral provision seeking to welcome Anglican converts into full communion with the Catholic Church. Even if you are unable to attend, please pray for Vaughn Treco, his family, and the Anglican-use community to which the Holy Father has given these special permissions and a warm welcome to reunion in the Catholic Church. 7
