God gives us love in unfathomable amounts, God s world is love. He loves us no matter what we think or what we do, we are constantly surrounded with his love and forgiveness. It is our job to pass that love and forgiveness on to others. We can enjoy God s love, but it brings us more joy when we pass it on. We never know when that one small act of love can change someone else s entire life. There is far too much hatred in today s world and far too much greed and selfishness. When we can raise ourselves above these things and show the world love, it makes us a better person and the world a better place. God does not want hatred and turmoil he wants peace and love. Yes, I came of age in the 60 s and those were the two catch words, love and peace, but they still are for me and I wish and pray the whole world would hear those two words and live into eternity practicing them. With all that is going on in the world today remember Love is an act of endless forgiveness. Pass it on. David Ward

NEWS AND NOTES Blessing of the Animals at Christ Church in Jordan had its normal assortment of dogs this year. We did have a first, a pair of ducks owned by Gwen Corser. I believe this was also first for Father Tom Margrave. All were well behaved except for a little white dog named Bigglee, owner does not want to be identified. He growled and nipped at Father Tom. Father then gave him a much needed extra blessing. Father gave us an opportunity to remember our other pets that have passed on, which was very moving. In the past horses, roosters, a Ball Python, stuffed animals, and a Bearded Dragon have been blessed. This is a great event that we look forward to every year. Cherie Robinson

4 THANK YOU TO: BILL HUNN. The front of the Church was in desperate need of some yard work. After looking it over, I knew it was a much bigger job than I could handle by myself. I made a 911 call to Bill, he came right over and was a tremendous help. BRAD BUTLER. In July terror struck as we learned we would be without our organist, Judi Erba, for 2 weeks in a row. Some of us have enough trouble singing with music, much less without!!! Brad came to the rescue with one Sunday on his keyboard and the other Sunday on guitar. Judi took a vacation day in September and Brad once again brought his guitar. JUDY JOHNSON. A reverse snow bird, she comes from St. Augustine, FL., and spends her summers at Cross Lake. More than once this summer we were without a Lector. Judy graciously stepped in each and every time. And everyone agrees she does an excellent job. Cherie Robinson DO YOU REMEMBER???? JEFF COX When we were without an organist, Rev. Kate Day found us a young high school student to take the job. If I remember right, he was with us for about 2 years before he went off to college. He had great talent, and we were very sorry to lose him. Connie Boyd and I attended Always..Patsy Cline at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse. It looks like Jeff has gone a long way since he left Christ Church in little Jordan, NY. Jeff Cox (Music Director) is a pianist, arranger, and conductor based in New York City. His recent credits include Austen s Pride (Music Sup. Kevin Stites), Wicked (national tour key 2 sub), and conducter/arranger for Jeremy Stolle s The Unreachable Stars. Regional work includes Ghost, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Parade, The Girl Who, Smokey Joe s Café, Tenderly: The Rosemary Clooney Musical, Treasure Island, Sweeney Todd, The Light in the Piazza, West Side Story, etc. at the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival; Titanic at the Hangar Theatre; Cortland Repertory Theatre; Smokey Mountain Opry. Jeff is a faculty member at AMDA. He holds a Master s Degree in conducting from Ithaca College. wwwjeffcoxmusic.com Cherie Robinson Christ Church, Jordan, bells toll for deceased in Las Vegas Tuesday, October 3 rd at noon, nearly thirty of the churches of the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York joined Episcopal churches nationwide in tolling church bells for those who died in the October 2 nd mass shooting in Las Vegas. Bill Hunn rang the bells once for each life lost.

Lord, we pray that You will honor their commitment to each other and to You by granting them many more years of happiness together. amen UPDATE: The large stained glass altar window should be back in place by the second week in November. Thanks to all who have made generous donations to help this restoration happen. It was a beautiful weekend of warm weather and sunshine for the annual Jordan-Elbridge Fall Festival. And, as usual, the J-EACB pie booth was a popular stop for patrons.
