5 Due to the generosity of a parishioner St. Bernard's Catholic Women's League is offering a $1,000 Bursary to a student graduating from High School in June 2018 who is a parishioner & is pursuing post-secondary studies. Please submit a letter of application by May 30, 2018 including your future plans to: St. Bernard's Catholic Women's League Bursary Selection Committee, Parish Office, 43 Botsford St., Moncton, NB, E1C 4W9. Deadline for applications is June 1, For fifty days, the people of God reflect on the meaning of Jesus resurrection and of their sharing in it through baptism: dying to sin and living for God. For seven weeks we celebrate the presence of Jesus among us. We celebrate his ascension, and pray to him, seated in glory with the Father. As we prepare for Pentecost, we ask him to fill us with the grace and power of his Spirit. Community Volunteer - Income Tax Program (CVITP) The CVITP is a collaboration between the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and community organizations. The organizations host tax preparation clinics and arrange for volunteers to prepare income tax and benefit returns for eligible individuals who have a modest income and a simple tax situation. For a list of organizations that provide this service please see the bulletin boards at the entrances of the church.

6 From the Offices of Faith Development, Liturgy & Youth Faith Development To contact us: Ellen Trevor Deb Not Getting an Answer, But We d Be More Informed About the Question: The second gathering for the book discussion of Rediscovering the Art of Dying: How Jesus Experience and Our Stories Reveal a New Vision of Compassionate Care by Sr. Nuala Kenny, facilitated by Claudia McCloskey and Maurise Leveque at St. Bernard s Church Hall, will take place Saturday, April 21, 9:30 AM 12 PM. Feel free to join us, even if you were unable to come on April 14, but please register with Ellen. Your parish needs you! Each time we attend Mass, we may notice people taking part in various roles or functions. In doing so, they are participating in liturgical ministry, using their talents or gifts in service to the parish community. Very likely you have occasionally seen or heard a plea from your parish to consider offering your services in liturgical ministry. Many of our communities are seeing dwindling involvement in ministry, including lectors, communion ministers, greeters & ushers (hospitality), servers, musicians and singers. This may be due to age, illness, relocation, or other unknown factors. In response to this reality, a Liturgical Ministry Information Session will be offered to assist and inform those who would like to serve their community in this manner but are unsure of the talents/gifts/skill necessary to be an effective liturgical minister. The session will be held on May 1, 7-8:30 PM, at Holy Family Church, Falkland St. (This is also open to those already involved who may be questioning or considering a different ministry) The evening will be facilitated by Deb Gillespie, Liturgy Coordinator for the English parishes of the Archdiocese of Moncton, and Mark Mahoney, Pastoral Associate for Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity. Admission: $20 (cash only). Doors open at 6:30 PM. Please note: a collection will be taken up for Music ministry Alive (MMA) Scholarship Fund for youth and adult music ministry formation. On Saturday, June 2, 9 AM 2 PM, David will facilitate a workshop and retreat for Music Ministers. This day is offered free of charge to music ministers within our diocese. Advance registration only (deadline is May 25). Lunch will be provided. Visit for registration and other information. CDs, music and books by David will be available for purchase before and after the concert, and on Saturday as well. Music Directors: As you know, David Haas is coming to the Moncton Archdiocese, June 1 st & 2 nd. He will offer a concert on Friday evening, open to the public, as well as a workshop/retreat for all music ministers on Saturday. Now we are pleased to announce that David will meet with Directors of Music Ministry on Friday afternoon, June 1 st, from 1-3 PM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Riverview. Visit
