5 ST. CLEMENT OF ROME S 32nd ANNUAL ROSARY RALLY St. Anthony Ministry is asking for your help in feeding the needy of our parish during this Thanksgiving holiday. BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY The St. Clement of Rome and St. Christopher Bereavement Ministeries are going to have a meeting on November 8 at 6:00 PM at the St. Christopher Church at the corner of Manson and Derbigny Streets. We will be having a guest speaker, Kim Smith, a bereavement team member with Heart of Hospice. Her topic will be Handling the Holidays After the Death of a Loved One. After the meeting there will be a reception in their Parish Center. FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTIONS November 3 Our Lady of Fatima asked that the faithful dedicate the first Saturdays of five consecutive months in reparation for sin by going to confession, receiving Holy Communion, praying five decades of the Holy Rosary, and meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary for at least 15 minutes. This has become known as the First Saturday Devotions. We will celebrate these devotions on the first Saturday of each month by offering our regularly scheduled morning Rosary and Mass in atonement for sin and for the conversion of the United States. ALL SAINTS DAY MASS SCHEDULE On Thursday, Nov. 1, we celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints, a Holy Day of Obligation. Él era un ciego limosnero que llamaba repetidamente a Jesús y no había quien lo callara. Vio a Jesús el que sanaba y perdonaba los pecados, e hijo de David. Jesús curó a Bartimeo mientras le decía: Tu fe te ha salvado. La ceguera era común en la antigüedad y la gente creía que era resultado del pecado. Hoy no lo creemos así pero, y qué de la ceguera espiritual que nos reprime de vivir una vida completamente cristiana? El orgullo, los celos, la envida, la avaricia y otros pecados similares son normalmente lo sospechoso. Pero consideremos también la falta de confianza en Dios, no creer verdaderamente en la buena noticia de Cristo, flaqueza en la oración y reticencia a hacer el bien. Y no nos olvidemos de la esperanza. Si de veras creemos que el pecado y la muerte no son el final y que la vida eterna les espera a los que aman y sirven a Dios no estaremos ciegos frente a la esperanza.
