3 STEWARDSHIP Next Prayer Shawl Meeting is this Thursday, December 1:00pm at the Parish Center, Greenleaf New Prayer Shawls will be blessed at the 4:00pm Mass in Askeaton on Saturday, December 15th. Prayer Shawls will also be available at the other two churches that same weekend for anyone to take home for themselves or to give to a loved one. New members are always welcome to join the group. For more information, contact Kay Arndt at Retired Religious Collection December 8th-9th Today, through the Retirement Collection, we are able to Share in the Care of our retired sisters, brothers and religious order priests through the National Retirement Fund for Religious, as well as of the senior priests of our own Diocese. 4 SCHOOL NEWS, DISCIPLESHIP FORMATION, YOUTH MINISTRY St Clare School News This week we are featuring our sixth and seventh graders who recently built houses that would be able to withstand an earthquake! Faith. Family. Future. The 6th and 7th graders have been learning about natural disasters in science class. After reading about architectural design of earthquake resistant structures, they worked in groups to use these techniques to create their own buildings on different terrains. Wednesday, Dec.12th - Faith Formation Grades 1-4: 3:30-4:45pm, Wrightstown (Mrs. Martzhal s 2nd grade classes will be leading our closing prayer at 4:35pm, in church) Grades 5-8: 6:30-7:45pm, Wrightstown Everyone should report at 6:30pm to your regular room; we will celebrate Mass at 7:05pm, with the youth taking active roles in the Mass parts. 6 PARISH/COMMUNITY EVENTS "TIDbits: Theological Ideas from the Deacons" Families have their own mission from Christ! There are many different forms of family life today, and many different challenges for each one. But each family is called to be faithful to Christ s way of love and each family member is equally called by Christ, to union with the Holy Trinity. We are called to be holy people, living in holy families. This, in itself, is a great Christian witness to the world around us. Pope Paul VI, in 1975, said there should be found in every Christian family the various aspects of the entire church (Evangelii Nundiandi 71)! As the pope said: In a family which is conscious of this mission, all the members evangelize and are evangelized. The parents not only communicate the Gospel to their children, but from their children they can themselves receive the same Gospel as deeply lived by them. And such a family becomes the evangelizer of many other families, and of the neighborhood of which it forms part. Our Catechism says that the doors of homes, the domestic churches must be open to all those living alone today, without a family. (CCC #1658) Our families don t exist simply to survive, or to keep to themselves, or to just feed and educate the kids. Jesus has given our families a mission, just like his Holy Family had a mission. That mission is to bring about the Kingdom of God, and to do it in the unique setting of families ministering as families. If the weather appears too hazardous and you wonder if Mass will go on as scheduled, please follow these guidelines: DAILY MASS (and Monday Communion Service) - If the Wrightstown School District cancels school because of winter weather, Mass will be cancelled for that day and the Mass intention for that day will be reassigned. WEEKEND MASS - In the event driving conditions are deemed unsafe for travel, check your , text messages, the Parish Website or Facebook page to see if any or all Weekend Masses are cancelled.
