Some of the projects can only be completed by professionals, and we must hire and pay for their services. But many small jobs that need to be done only require a desire to help and the willingness to be of service! Please consider volunteering a few hours to help us complete our Summer Projects! 4 Save The Date: Honor of Our Lady s Assumption, Mater Ecclesiae Will Celebrate The 18th Annual Solemn High Mass of The Assumption In Thanksgiving for The Founding of Mater Ecclesiae Wednesday, August 15 7:00 PM The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Celebrated by Father Robert C. Pasley, KCHS, Rector DIOCESAN MARIAN PILGRIMAGE Every other year, Catholics throughout the Diocese of Camden journey to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. All are welcome to join Bishop Dennis Sullivan for this Pilgrimage on Saturday, October 13, 2018 This year, pilgrims will be able to view the magnificent Trinity Dome Mosaic Which was only recently completed and blessed. Pilgrims will enjoy a Concert of Sacred Music, have the opportunity to go to Confession, And attend Mass celebrated by Bishop Sullivan in the Great Upper Church of the Basilica. Catholics from throughout the Diocese will participate in the Procession of Parishes, And join together in praying the Holy Rosary, As we honor the Blessed Virgin Mary and entrust our Special Intentions to her.

5 May 31, 2018 The Feast of Corpus Christi Dear Friend of Sacred Music and Mater Ecclesiae, This year on the Feast of the Assumption, we will celebrate our 18 th Annual Mass of Thanksgiving on Wednesday, August 15 th at 7 p.m. at The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul, 18th Street & Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Reverend Robert C. Pasley, KCHS, Rector of Mater Ecclesiae, will be the Celebrant. The Solemn High Tridentine Mass will once again feature the Ars Laudis Festival Chorus & Orchestra. Our Cantor Mr. Nicholas Beck, a graduate of Westminster Choir College, will direct the singing of the Gregorian Propers. Dr. Timothy McDonnell will be the conductor for this Mass. We celebrate this feast each year by the use of the great treasury of Sacred Music, especially the beautiful polyphonic Masses that are very infrequently prayed in their proper place; the Sacred Liturgy. We want to foster a greater love for the great works of our Catholic heritage. In order to sponsor such grand music we cannot depend on our little parish of 500 families. We need the help of everyone in the Delaware Valley who wants to foster excellent sacred music as well as support professional musicians who have been blessed by God with a magnificent talent. I, therefore, appeal to you for financial assistance. We need to raise at least $11, Any money that is raised over the amount needed will be put directly in the Sacred Music Fund. If you wish to donate, please choose a category, write out a check to Mater Ecclesiae Assumption Mass Fund and fill in the name that you want printed on the donor list. When we receive the donation, we will send a letter acknowledging receipt that can be used for tax purposes. We will also put your name before the statue of Saint Jude, and specifically remember all the donors at our Perpetual Novena to St. Jude on Wednesdays starting August 22 nd. Tuesday Night Confessions The Sacrament of Penance is available every Tuesday evening from 8 PM to 9 PM. Men s Schola The Schola Divinum Officium is open to men and boys (ages 14 and up) of the parish. No previous musical experience necessary. This second schola provides basic lessons in singing Gregorian chant and leads the singing at selected sung Masses during the year, the Office of Terce each Sunday, and other Divine Office services. The Scriptural Rosary can be found on their website: discalced Carmelite Society of Mater Ecclesiae The Discalced Carmelite Society of Mater Ecclesiae is a Contemplative Third Order of the Discalced Carmelites. Our vocation is not a social one, but one of prayer. Our duty is to be Obedient to the Church and our Superiors. Meetings are open to Parishioners only who are 24 years of age and older or admitted by our Spiritual Director, Rev. Robert C. Pasley, KCHS. Meetings are the First Saturdays of the month and special Feast days. Formation is a journey lasting about 6 years. Our attire is an outward expression of our love for the Lord and shows how important He is to us. It is also a sign of our respect for the House of God. Therefore, one should always wear their Sunday Best to Mass: modesty, good taste and common sense should prevail. Accordingly, the following rules apply: NO SHORTS, EVER, FOR MEN, WOMEN OR CHILDREN. Women: No revealing clothing, low necklines, short skirts or bare midriffs. Please dress modestly with dignity and self-respect. We suggest that women wear a head covering. Men: No tattered, soiled work clothes, old jeans or gym clothes. Please wear business or business casual attire to set a good example for our young men and boys.
