This is the first of what will become a semiannual tradition and practice in our Territory. Our next retreat will be led by Bishop Gordon Light sometime in October. 7

8 WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE AND HUNGER A Canadian Foodgrains Bank Initiative Each of us has a role to play in addressing climate change. With public support and actions from people across the country, Canadian Foodgrains Bank has successfully influenced policy decisions in the past, such as the untying of food aid and increasing aid for agriculture. We can do the same on the issue of climate change and hunger. Public support plays an essential role in this, and you can be part of this in several ways: Join the Hunger Action Network go to our website to sign up for this list to learn about specific actions you can take to address global hunger. Learn about climate change and hunger, spreading awareness to others in your church and community. Explore ways you or your church can show care for God s creation. Write your MP to say you care about how climate change is affecting farmers around the world. Pray for our world, and for an end to hunger. Find worship resources at foodgrainsbank.ca. Give to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank Climate Fund, which supports projects that help small-scale farmers adapt to climate change. Visit get-involved/ to learn more about the Climate Fund. Ending hunger requires many actions supplying food in times of emergency or shortfall, providing support for agriculture, helping improve nutrition for families, and enabling smallscale farmers to adapt to climate change.
