2 We gather today on the traditional territory of the Tk emlúps te Secwepemc Kamloops & Area First Nation. We acknowledge their care for and working of the land prior to contact with Europeans. As Canadian Anglicans, we continue to work toward healing and reconciliation and a new experience of sharing the land together. MONTHLY MINISTRY FOCUS - Youth Ministry Trust Account Each year generous donations have been received to the St. Paul s Youth Ministry Trust Account. This trust account has been used since 2012 to support our youth, young adults and volunteer youth leaders in taking part in retreats, conferences and leadership development opportunities. We have supported young people in attending the following experiences: - British Columbia and Yukon Anglican Youth Movement Fall Conferences - February Winter Sorrento Centre - Young Sojourners Sorrento Centre - Leadership, Experience and Adventure Program (LEAP) at Sorrento Centre. - Canadian Lutheran and Anglican Youth Gathering, held every two years and moves across the country. This trust fund has made it possible for many of our young people to attend these important retreats, gatherings and leadership training opportunities without the cost being a burden on them and their families. It also shows that we as the Cathedral Community support learning and experiential opportunities in more ways than one. We are inviting you to consider donating to this important trust fund. The funds in the Youth Ministry Trust Account will continue to be used to support our young people and the youth leadership team (a volunteer team of young people who largely are in post-secondary school) in participating in leadership training opportunities, retreats and conferences outside of the events and activities that take place regularly at St. Paul s Cathedral. We give thanks for your continued support of our young people at St. Paul s Cathedral. Donations can be made through the Cathedral office, clearly marked for the Youth Trust Fund. We praise you here where the Fraser, Nechako and Thompson Rivers flow, where city and farm, wilderness and industry are side by side. We praise you at a time when the body of earth is broken again and again. We give thanks for our place in the story of salvation. Our ancestors journeyed with you in creation and migration. They depended on the land, were displaced from the land and displaced others from their lands. They knew you in tents and cities, on mountains and by wells, in families and in dreams, and through wilderness prophets who spoke of cedars and listened to ravens. Together with angels and ancestors, eagle and bear, salmon and sheep, pine and wild rose, we join our voices with all creation in this ancient honour song: O holy, holy, holy God, O God of time and space. All earth and sea and sky above bear witness to your grace. Hosanna in the highest heav n creation sings your praise. And blessed is the One who comes and bears your name always! We give thanks to you for Jesus, whose first bed was a feed trough. He was baptized in the Jordan, tested in the wilderness, he traveled in fishing boats and told parables of famers and seeds, labor and wages, yeast and bread. On the night before he died, Jesus took bread, food of the poor, the work of field and hearth, he gave thanks, broke it and gave it to his friends saying: Take and eat, this is my body, given for you, do this to remember me. Again after supper he took the cup of wine, fruit of the land, gave thanks and gave it to his friends saying: This is my blood, which is shed for you. When you do this, do it in memory of me. 4

5 Remembering Jesus life, death and resurrection and awaiting his coming kingdom, we offer you this bread and this cup. Creator, send your Spirit on these gifts so that we know Jesus in them and are gathered together with everyone who shares this sacred meal of justice and community. Fill us with the courage and love of Jesus, that we may strive for justice and peace, respect the dignity of every human being, and safeguard the integrity of creation. Bring us with all your saints to your commonwealth of sparrow and lily, child and beggar which is both now and yet to come. All honor and glory are yours, Creator, Christ and Spirit, now and forever. WORSHP we are trying a couple of things: First, as we both announce the hymns and display them in the bulletin the boards seem redundant and an unnecessary chore. We have therefore taken the boards down. If we really need them, we will put them back up. Second, some have expressed concern about the handwashing with sanitizer prior to communion. While such diligence makes total sense during outbreaks of SARS or H1N1, repeated practice is problematic and can lead to other health concerns. We will therefore live without the handwashing station at communion for a time. Comments welcome.
