Child Advocacy Centers can be a great resource Child Advocacy Centers are a resource for parents and children who have come into contact with sexual abuse. These centers work with children who have been victims of sexual abuse or violence, or who have witnessed traumatic events. Parents and others may need guidance as to how best to support children who have been victimized advocacy centers provide guidance, interviewing and counseling services to help victims of abuse heal and find justice. For more info call: Joji Gunther (562) Christmas Toy Drive St. Maria Goretti Church is holding a Toy Drive again this year in conjunction with Catholic Charities in Long Beach. We will be collecting new and unwrapped toys which will be delivered to Catholic Charities by the first week of December. The Toy Drive will benefit needy children and their families at a Christmas party hosted by St. Mary s Hospital. Toys for all ages (including early teens) are needed. Toys will be collected near the south west entrance of the church (under the staircase). Thank you so much for your generosity! Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles Catholic Coalition The Archdiocese of Los Angeles is glad to announce the launch of the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) Catholic Coalition. To date, the coalition of nearly 30 LA parishes, schools, Knights of Columbus Councils and the office of Life, Justice, and Peace have come together to Build Habitat homes in Lynwood and Montebello. Archbishop Gomez has given his full support to this initiative and it is his hope that all our parishes will participate, in some form, in this noble endeavor as we give glory to God by providing decent housing to those who are in need.
