Weekly classes are each Tuesday, at 6:00 pm September April SERVICE DRIVE: The SPIRIT "Service Drive," is an opportunity that gives SPIRIT Youth the chance to help parishioners and other friends of SPIRIT with yard work, odd jobs, or other assistance in exchange for a donation to help offset SPIRIT functions. No work too big and no donation too small. If you have basic odd jobs you'd like help with, please contact Dale Blanchard to request help. Donations are requested at the end of the job. YOUTH TRIP: SPIRIT will visit the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville on April 30th after Mass. Bring money for lunch (fast food). SATURDAY 4:00 PM MASS ATTENDEES : The mass offered on Saturday evenings is in extreme need of volunteers for EVERY MINISTRY position. If you are not volunteering to share your time and talent at this 4:00 pm Mass (the Mass you choose to attend), you are needed NOW! We have 2 servers...servers may be anyone who has received first communion, male or female, 7 years old to 99 years old. We need Lectors, Ministers of the Eucharist, Musicians, Cantors, and Ushers. As of this time, the only person we know who will be there for every Saturday Mass is The Priest. This is YOUR church, YOUR God, YOUR time and talent. How can you help to make the offering of Holy Mass suited to serve the Glory and Honor of God as intended? We have far too many valued parishioners who are not sharing their gifts at Mass. Please don't be a "pew warmer"...share yourself with the God who shares with you! Contact Janet Rubino for more details on being an active participant at Mass and helping in this need. 3 2017 DINNER DANCE Tickets are on sale for the 16 th Annual Jerome C. Bradley Memorial Dinner Dance, to be held Saturday, August 26 from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Bessemer Civic Center. 17 cash door prizes totaling $10,000 will be awarded. Each $100 ticket admits two and includes a buffet dinner, beer and wine, with music and dancing provided by a professional DJ. This year s theme is Swing n Sock Hop. MEETING: Knights of Columbus Council will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Knights room. There will not be a 6:00 Mass. Food will be served at 6:30. All Knights are urged to attend. LADIES MEETING: The Ladies Auxiliary will meet Thursday, May 4 th at 6:30 pm. LET S PLAY BINGO : The Ladies Auxiliary is again hosting the quarter ($.25) Family Bingo Night on Saturday, May 6 th, immediately after the 4:00 pm Mass in the St. Joseph Hall. We will play 10 games of bingo plus a jackpot cover all game. All cards are $0.25 per bingo card, per game. Play as many cards as you like. Also, there will be door prizes and we will play 50/50. We will be selling grilled hot dogs, chips, drink and a dessert for $5.00. Come and bring your family or a friend. GOLF FORE LIFE: Have fun, save lives and raise funds for Her Choice. The 14 th annual Golf Fore Life will be held May 12, The cost is $250 ($125 tax deductible) per individual golfer and prizes will be awarded at the end of the tournament. We need 18 people to organize a foursome to make this fundraiser the most successful ever. Individual golfers are welcome and will be paired up. Anyone can be a Hole Sponsor, $500.00, or a half Hole Sponsor, $ Our signage is beautiful and let s others know of your commitment to the Sanctity of Life. This Ministry exists to help women facing a crisis pregnancy choose life, and to support them in that decision. Post-Abortion healing support is also offered. This month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul brought the love and care of Jesus to the poor by assisting 7 families, providing $750 in food, $1200 for utility and rent bills, etc. We also provided a stove, refrigerator and other furnishings to a family in need. If you are interested please contact Daphne Davis. AUCTION COMING: In our usual Springfest tradition, we will be holding a live auction beginning at 1:30 PM on May 21st in St. Joseph Hall. However, before the auction goes live, we will be posting all items up for bid online in our Springfest Auction section. Items will be available for viewing in person in the St. Joseph Hall beginning Saturday, May 6th after the 4PM Mass. You may place a silent bid in person at that time. DAILY MASS MINISTRY: Volunteers are needed to be Lectors and Extraordinary Ministers during Daily Mass. If you would like to serve please check in at the office 15 minutes before Mass begins. LOST AND FOUND: There are several articles in lost and found. Please call the Church Office for assistance. NEW CENSUS CARD PLEASE: If any of your information has changed, please take the time to fill out a new census card completely. Not sure? Fill one out anyway and don t forget to mark your choices on the privacy line. That is, let us know if we may share your address and phone information with your fellow parishioners. This line is located under the Home phone/(s) /wife s Maiden Name line. THE IMPORTANCE OF CANS! Thank you for your contribution of aluminum cans to benefit our youth programs at the church. Please remember to rinse your cans after use and do not crush them in any way so that they will fit into our can crusher properly. Finally, please deposit cans in the receptacle in the corner of the upper parking lot ensuring that they are placed in bags that are tied so that the cans do not fall out when retrieved by our volunteers. We appreciate everyone s cooperation and continue to SAVE THOSE CANS!
