1 A NEW PEOPLE. A NEW MEMPHIS.
2 The First Word on Worship As I mentioned, we are extending our break from Gospel Mark through month January and taking a short deur through a minor prophet named Habakkuk. We call him a minor prophet, not because his message is unimportant, but because his is relatively brief compared Isaiah or Jeremiah. And yet, how important Habakkuk s word is! Because coming out Christmas, having loved and sung and wondered, we ve come back real world: loneliness, darkness, difficulty, sorrow, evil. How do we continue trust God in this sad world? Why should we continue do so? Habakkuk will help us with this, teaching us how live by faith in this unjust world. We are reminded this morning steadfast love God displayed in Jesus Christ, not only in ministry Word and sacrament, but from very opening words this year: Your steadfast love is great above heavens; your faithfulness reaches clouds! This holy God is also a God steadfast love! He has shown us that love in Cross Jesus power cross transm our understanding our lives in this world. And he continues demonstrate his love as he leads us through sadness and sorrow peace and joy. Thanks be God, indeed! Welcome Independent Presbyterian Church!
