O C o n n o r We come together in prayer so that our lives reflect the faith we profess First Sunday of ADVENT Reflection Luke 21: 25~28 As the liturgical year begins, we hear of the need to be alert to the coming of the Lord. The Gospel depicts a time when people are so filled with terror that some die of fright. In our time, we may be fearful because of crime, natural disasters, or a family crises. We have the choice to act from these emotions or from the hope that God brings. We can be among those causing panic among family and friends or we can spread the hope that we have received from the Gospel. When our actions are inspired by the Gospel, we read the signs of the times as opportunities for Jesus to be born anew in our communities. A group of 10 volunteers gather from 11am. To 2:30pm preparing, serving and cleaning up. All the necessary ingredients for the meal are provided, we just need to prepare it. 4 ADVENT Liturgy of RECONCILIATON St. Vincent de Paul Church 7pm Wednesday, 12th Session dates for grades K-10: 2nd, 9th, 16th Students and parents are invited to gather each week in the parish center gathering space at 9:15am for opening prayer and announcements. Come see us and support this great cause!! Christmas Flowers Plan to join us as we prepare ourselves spiritually for the Lords coming. Each Advent we celebrate God s unconditional love and forgiveness and Christ s healing presence and provide an opportunity for individual confessions in a communal rite of the Sacrament of Penance. We will reflect on Jesus gift of peace. My peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. Plants will be available for pick-up / delivery after each of our weekend masses on Saturday, 8th and Sunday, 9th. If you have a special person who you would like to deliver to, please call the parish office and let us know. Thank you! Music to our ears as we celebrated the birthday of a 12 year old girl at St. Catherine s Center for Children. It was so special to see the joy on her face as we sang Happy Birthday and shared cake with all the children. And seeing how thrilled she was with her presents was even better! Eucharistic Ministers offer Bread and Wine during Mass. To become a Eucharistic Minister you must be an active and confirmed member of the Parish Community. When you celebrate an Anniversary, Birthday or commemorating a loved one with a Mass remembrance, why not plan to bring up the gift at the Liturgy. Please talk with Deacon Gary. 500 Club Oct. 29, 2018 ~ April 22, 2019 PRISON Ministry It is the mission of REC to serve the Lord within our diocese by encouraging the prison inmate population to become more active Christians during and after their incarceration. Our service to the Lord is done primarily through an intense three-day program, timely follow-up meetings, supporting other religious activities within prisons and supporting re entry to the community.
