5 Parishioners Do you have ONE HOUR during the Month that you could spend Adoring our Lord and savior in the form of the Holy Eucharist? This is only ONE Hour out of 480 hours of awake time. Giving you 45 minutes to arrive at the Church., then spend ONE hour in communal prayer, which includes approximately 20 minutes of private meditation, then 45 minutes to arrive back at your residence, you have used up.007% of your awake time. Nocturnal adoration begins at 7:00 pm on the Thursday before the First Friday on every month. The Two hour period begins with the exposition of the Blessed Eucharist, and the communal prayer hour begins. The next hour starts immediately after the first hour and ends with Benediction. There are different readings for the TWO Hours. ALL ARE INVITED. Proclaimers of the Word (readers) Catholic men & women sixteen years or older and have received the Sacrament of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) and if Married have been Married in the Catholic Church, are eligible for this ministry. They should participate regularly in the celebration of the Sunday Eucharist and practice their Catholic Faith. A reader should also be a registered member of the parish. Our mission at the Mass is to proclaim the word of the Lord and act as a bridge between the Scriptures and the faithful. You are committing yourself to the preparation and discipline that enables Scripture to become the living word. If you are interested in joining this ministry: Please contact Frank Radicella or Frank at fradicella@ec.rr.com. Glenn LaMarque approached me and asked if the Parish would help collect soda pull tabs to help offset the cost of his daughter having to stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Mobile Alabama. His daughter had twins born at 22 weeks due to complications. Scarlett weighed 14.4 ounces and Jesse weighed 1 pound 1.8 ounces. By collecting the soda pull tabs, they can help offset the cost of the stay. Please pray for this family, save the tops and bring them in. Glenn is a parishioner here at Annunciation Catholic Parish. THE THREE COMINGS OF ADVENT There are three distinct comings of the Lord of which I know: His coming to humankind, His coming into humankind, and His coming against humankind. St. Bernard: Third Sermon for Advent HEARTFELT Remember that God prefers the poverty of our hearts to the most sublime thoughts borrowed from others. St. Peter The parish youth group will be selling luminaries for Christmas Eve Mass and Christmas Midnight Mass. The cost is $5.00 each with the money collected going to set up a fund for youth activities. It is our goal to be able to sell enough luminaries to go down the whole sidewalk into the parish. Please call the parish office or place your money in an envelope and drop it in the collection basket marked luminaries in honor or in memory of and the names. There will be envelopes and order blanks in the back of the church. Parents must set themselves very definite priorities, such as the determination to have schools in which their children s faith will be respected, fostered and enriched; schools in which their children learn the value and beauty of the Church s teaching. They must also see to it that their own homes are places in which these values are first fostered and lived. Parents own practice of the faith, their own love for Christ, is of course fundamental.
