Baptisms: Third Sunday of the month at 2:00 PM. You must register at least one month before. Communion Calls: Please notify the rectory regarding anyone ill, elderly or confined to the home who would like to receive the sacraments. The Mission Statement Of The Shrine Church of St. Jude The parish of the Shrine Church of St. Jude is a family of Christians created in the image of a loving God. He has given us faith and gifts which we nurture by His Word and Eucharist. Sent forth by Christ, we strive to share Him with others in our daily lives and to spread His message of salvation to all. We welcome all people seeking communion with us. We respond to Christ s command to teach all people through instruction in the Catholic Faith in our religious education programs and Catholic School. With Christ as our cornerstone, we attempt to minister to the body, mind, and spirit of our fellow human beings. We pray for God s help and guidance, and that we may love each other as brothers and sisters in the Lord building up the Kingdom of God. + Welcome Catholics are always welcomed home; non-catholics are invited to join us in prayer. Catholics who are new to our parish are respectfully requested to introduce themselves to one of the priests after Mass and register at the parish office during the week. Active parishioners are those who are registered, join us regularly for the celebration of the sacraments and use the weekly donation envelopes. Only in this way can the parish issue documents attesting to parish membership and Catholic practice. Kindly notify us if you change your address.

With these words, Jesus distinguished himself from other spiritual leaders. He was doing more than offering advice. He was offering himself: "The bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world." Through the Eucharist, Jesus provided a way for his followers to be intimately connected with him, not just with his ideas. When we receive this sacrament, we are able to be close to the Lord not only in our hearts, but in our bodies as well. UP COMING EVENTS ENTHRONEMENT TO THE MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS The Enthronement Ceremony of Individuals and families will take place this year on the feast day of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, June 27th at Holy family church on 9719 Flatlands Ave. The Triduum prayers will be on Wednesday June 25 at 7:30 P.M, Thursday June 26 at 7:30 P.M and the enthronement mass on Friday June 27th 7:00 P.M. DAY OF REFLECTION FOR MINISTERS There will be a day of reflection and prayer on Saturday June 28th for all Ministers of Holy Communion, Lectors and ministers of hospitality. The day will begin with the 8:10 A.M Mass and conclude with a re-commitment ceremony and lunch. If you are able or unable to attend this day, please let us know by calling or leave your name at the office. This is important in order to plan for this day MOSES Join us on a Bus Trip to Landcaster Pennsylvania to see Moses, the greatest biblical epic of the Old testament. The play schedule for us is on October 25th, The cost for the bus seat, lunch at Eden Resort and the ticket for the play is $ Reserve now. Strengthen our families, help more in our Parish Family at St. Jude s and in the Diocese of Brooklyn to say, Yes to your call to be priests, sisters, brothers, deacons, and lay ministers. May the Risen Christ help us know your will and live it joyfully! 5 JUNE 22, 2014 RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION The R.C.I.A or Catechumenate, is a process by which people who are considering membership in the Catholic Church come together to experience Christian community and share a journey of faith. For whom is it intended? 1) Unbaptized Adults and Teens who wish to learn more about the faith and Christian life, with the possibility of being a Catholic. 2) Baptized Christians from other denominations who would like to learn more about, and possibly join the Catholic Church. 3) Baptized Catholics who wish to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and/or the Eucharist Unbaptized? Without recent church involvement? Still need to receive Sacraments? We have groups for Adults and High School students. If you checked one or more of the above, the Lord is inviting you to Come and See what the RCIA process is like.
