We wish to acknowledge with many thanks the Inglis ACW Group s contribution of $ to Building in Faith. Deo Gratias! Congratulations to Father Peter Harris who will b e celebrating the 40th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood on St. Barnabas Day, Monday, June 11th. St Peterites are thankful that over half of the 40 years that he has served in the ministry have been spent with us at St Peter s Cathedral. Please come along to coffee hour today, June 10th, to share your appreciation and good wishes.

3 We welcome all visitors with us today and invite you to join us for Coffee & Tea in the Cathedral Hall following the 10:30 a.m. service. Thank you from Bishop Binney ACW Many thanks to all the volunteers who made, packed, made again, sold, and made again(!) FUDGE. It is amazing that just over $ was raised from this sale, which caters to the sweet tooth of so many! Appointment of Sextons Last Sunday, we took a moment to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of Glenn and Lynette Hawley, our Sextons at St. Peter's Cathedral for the past 5 1/2 years. This week, the Rector, Wardens and Vestry are pleased to announce that we are engaging the services of "Dulces Facilities Services Ltd" for our sexton services. This is a business owned and operated by a local resident, Mr. Tony Foy. Mr. José Galicia, of "Dulces Facilities", will be the person primarily responsible for the janitorial and cleaning aspect of the work. Mr. Foy will be responsible for maintenance and repairs and will supervise the work. He is an experienced plumber and contractor who has attended to many maintenance issues at the Cathedral over the past couple of years. José, a native of Argentina who came to Canada several decades ago, has worked as a waiter, janitor, and teacher in British Columbia at various points in his career before moving to PEI. José who will be on Cathedral properties daily, lives on Fitzroy Street, next to the Rectory, which is a very convenient arrangement for us regarding security and oversight of our properties. Vestry will be making plans soon to rent the current Sexton s apartment. Tony and José will begin a transition period, working with Glenn and Lynette for a week or so up until their departure on the 16th of June. We ask Parishioners to welcome Tony and José into the St. Peter's family, and assist them wherever possible to smooth the transition process. Sunday School Closing and Parish Picnic On Sunday, June 24th, the Sunday School will be holding its annual Closing and Picnic. Awards and certificates will be presented to the children during the 10:00 service, followed by the parish picnic in Rochford Square. All parishioners are welcome. Summer Service Schedule Our summer schedule of services begins Sunday, June 24th. The times of services for the summer will be as follows: 7:30 a.m. Matins; 8:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist; 10:00 a.m. Choral Eucharist; 6:00 p.m. Evensong. Parish Life Committee News The Parish Life Committee will be displaying an assortment of information from the provincial department of "Community Services And Seniors" during the Coffee Hour in the Cathedral Hall following the 10:30 a.m. service. Everyone is invited to help themselves to any items of interest and to learn of upcoming events for seniors. The information display will be available every Sunday starting June 10th. The Committee would like to thank Jane Ross for her efforts in assembling this very useful information. St Peter s Cathedral Flower Guild A Flower Guild Team headed by Betty Robertson is now in place. Anyone wishing to have memorial flowers on the Altar or in the Church, please call Betty at Parish Address Please note our parish address. It is office@stpeter.org Please use this address for any messages you wish to send to either the Parish Office or St Peter Publications. News from Bishop Binney Group ACW Do you have friends and relations for whom you wish to buy gifts on special occasions? Why not make a donation to St. Peter s Cathedral in their name, or as a memorial to a loved one, as a unique gift. The Binney Group has hand-drawn St. Peter s Cathedral cards specially inscribed in elegant lettering with which to personalize your gift. A tax receipt will be issued for your donation. A Sample card and envelope can be viewed at the back of the church. These lovely cards can be obtained from any Binney member at no cost. Such a donation care is a simple and appropriate gift, particularly for those far away, to express your thoughtfulness. The Food Bank Basket A box is available at the back of the Cathedral to accept donations of food for The Food Bank, and/or for needy people.

4 Father Ralph Moore to become part-time Assistant at St. Peter's Cathedral On Sunday, April 15, Father Harris announced that the new Rector of the Parishes of Milton and Rustico will be the Rev d Father Ralph Moore. This is of special significance to our parish, because of the plan that has been in place for the last number of months that the next Rector of Milton/Rustico would be a part-time position (2/3) with the other one-third of his time serving as Assistant Priest at St. Peter's Cathedral and in the Parish of Georgetown. (The Parish of Georgetown means the Anglican Parish in King s County, and includes congregations in Montague, Souris, and Georgetown). Here at St. Peter s Cathedral, we will be delighted to welcome Father Ralph Moore back to PEI. It will be a pleasure to have him with us once again. (He was a very active lay member of our parish for ten years, before being ordained and serving in the Diocese of Western Newfoundland). Let us indeed keep Father Ralph and his wife Bonnie in our thoughts and prayers, as he prepares to leave his parish in St Anthony Newfoundland and to move to PEI in late June. His appointment is effective as of July 1st. St Peter s Cathedral Web Site Parishioners with Internet Access are reminded that St. Peter s Cathedral has a Website which has been active since You can visit our website at Please note that our Sunday bulletin is available online each week. Also, there is a Parish Calendar, which consists of a list of upcoming events and special services. In addition, we have created links to some parish photographs and brief video clips, and we hope to add substantially to these from time to time. Sunday, June 17th, at 3pm: Indian River Festival Youth Legacy Performance featuring Provincial Music Festival winners Adrian Irvine, violin; Simon Wright, tuba; and Branden Kelly, percussion; as well as Hyunmin Lee, piano, Debut Atlantic s Young Artist Award 2012 winner. Tickets $10. Habitat for Humanity PEI is seeking volunteers to serve on a Build Committee to facilitate the construction of a house for new Canadians, Htay Win and Kmwee Paw and their 5 children, ages 7 to 17, who have lived in a crowded apartment for the last 4 years and are looking forward to having their own home. A meeting will be held at 6 PM on Wednesday, June 13th, at the Habitat office above the ReStore, 365 Mt. Edward Road. For more information, please call Emily at The Collect for Corpus Christi O GOD, who in a wonderful sacrament hast left unto us a memorial of thy passion: Grant us so to reverence the holy mysteries of thy Body and Blood, that we may ever know within ourselves the fruit of thy redemption; who livest and reignest with the Father in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen. The Collect For The First Sunday After Trinity O GOD, the strength of all them that put their trust in thee: Mercifully accept our prayers; and because through the weakness of our mortal nature we can do no good thing without thee, grant us the help of thy grace, that in keeping of thy commandments we may please thee both in will and deed; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. The Epistle - 1 Corinthians BRETHREN, I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread; and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat; this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord s death till he come. Wherefore, whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily eateth and drinketh condemnation to himself, not discerning the Lord s body. The Gospel - St. John 6.55 AT that time; Jesus said unto the multitude of the Jews: My Flesh is meat indeed, and my Blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my Flesh and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father, so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead. He that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
