Three pamphlets will assist you in your worship: This leaflet, the Order of Service, is the most important. It contains the form of the Mass from beginning to end and will show you when to stand, kneel and sit; which hymns are appointed ( found in the Hymnal ); and the day s proper texts. The Music Brochure contains the service music. The Pew Missal contains the full text of the Mass; the first time you are likely to need it will be to recite the Creed. All page numbers are given in the Order of Service. Then follows immediately the Procession of the Blessed Sacrament After the Priest has vested in the humeral Veil, taken the Blessed Sacrament, and the other Sacred Ministers and servers have taken their places, the procession will begin to move down the center aisle; those wishing to process should follow. If the weather is clement its path will lead through the neighborhood and last about 10 minutes; if inclement, around the church. You need only bring this leaflet, which contains everything necessary for the remainder of tonight s liturgy. If required, the first hymn will be repeated after the third.

Amen. Vested in the humeral veil, the Priest ascends to the altar, takes the Blessed Sacrament and, turning, makes the sign of the cross over the people. Whilst you adore you may inwardly repeat My Lord and my God; the Holy Name; or simply ask Christ's blessing upon yourself and those for whom you wish to pray. Afterwards the Priest descends, puts o^ the veil and begins the Divine Praises, the People repeating each sentence after the Priest: Blessed be God. Blessed be his Holy Name. Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true Man. Blessed be the Name of Jesus. Blessed be his Most Sacred Heart. Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the altar. Blessed be God the Holy Ghost, the Comforter. Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most holy. Blessed be her Holy and Immaculate Conception. Blessed be her Glorious Assumption. Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother. Blessed be Saint Joseph, her most chaste Spouse. Blessed be God in his Angels and in his Saints. Whilst the Blessed Sacrament is reposed in the tabernacle, the following is sung: Psalm 117:1 2, with Antiphon & # # # W Hine w w w w w Let us forever adore the Most Holy Sacrament. * Al- le- lu- ia. * O Praise the Lord, all ye nations; * praise him, all ye peo- ples. 12 This painting from the Catacombs of Callixtus in Rome is one of the earliest depictions of a Consecration we possess. As the accidents of space and time are dissolved in the Mystery of the Eucharist, the Consecrated Loaf, priest, and worshiper in the ORANS posture shown here whose originals existed at Rome, perhaps around the year 250 are present and share today s Mass with us.
