2 2 OUTREACH GREETINGS ALL SUMMER IS HERE. WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF CANNED GOODS, CEREALS, AND PACKAGED FOOD FOR OUR CHARITIES. MEN'S AND WOMEN'S CLOTHING, AND CHILDREN CLOTHES WILL GO TO CHOPIN HALL OR TO THE CITY MISSION. SPEAKING OF THE CITY MISSION, THE ADDITION AND REMODELING ARE COMPLETED AND THE MISSION IS NOW FULLY OPEN AGAIN. IT INCLUDES INCREASED CHAPEL SIZE, KITCHEN, DINING ROOM, ADDITIONAL CLASSROOM, AND A FULLY FUNCTIONAL ADULT DAY CENTER. THERE IS ALSO A PLACE FOR CHILDREN. WE WILL BE DOING A BACKYARD MISSION TRIP AT OUR OWN CHURCH ON SATURDAY, JUNE 11 FOLLOWING THE PARISH BREAKFAST. WE WANT TO CLEAN UP AND SPRUCE UP THE PERIPHERY OF THE CHURCH BUILDING. PLEASE SIGN UP ON THE BULLETIN BOARD! AS ALWAYS, THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY. NANCY AND PAUL O'SULLIVAN, OUTREACH. You never know when you might meet The folk who brought you nametags are baaaack...just in time for the arrival of our new priest and his wife, Fr. John Drymon and Annie Stricklin. If you do not find your name tag, blank ones and 'sleeves' to put them in will be available. Please remember, there are only two of them and lots of us! Wearing our nametags (for at least a while) will help! As you all know, there will be a potluck lunch celebrating their first Sunday on June 5 th following our combined 9:30 worship service. Vestry is providing spiral sliced ham, everyone else is invited to bring salads, sides, and/or dessert. 'Twill be a wonderful, filling welcome!! Ginny Lee Pilstl CSG Chair Christ in a stranger s guise. Concert of Classical Music The Full Sound Chamber Group returns to Trinity on Sunday, June 19 th at 4:00 p.m. for a concert in the nave. The Full Sound Chamber Group consists of five brothers: Shalem Loritsch, violin; Chesed Loritsch, violin; Chayah Loritsch, viola; Racham Loritsch, cello; Tsidqah Loritsch, doublebass and piano. The family group has been performing together for four years. Shalem is a violinist with the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra in Delaware. The concert is free and open to the public. A free will offering will be taken.
3 3 Our thanks and gratitude to ALL the folk who worked diligently to get the Rectory (formerly known as The Annex) ready for the arrival of Fr. John and Annie. Especial thanks to Rob Fox (who did, among many other chores, such a yeoman's job getting the basement ready); Mark and Cathy Creighton (who power-washed, painted, and gardened outside the house); and Deke and Rita Roberts (who cleaned the inside and washed all the windows). Transformation of the annex into a habitable home could not have been accomplished without their efforts. The Vestry is spearheading efforts to make Trinity's outside look as welcoming as we strive to be when visitors come inside. The plan will involve three phases: Clean-up and removal of dead shrubs, mulch and planting around the buildings, and lastly, a garden for the northwest corner of our property. Paul O Sullivan will be coordinating efforts for Phase One as we work to clean up our current landscape. As he put it, we'll be doing a Backyard Mission for Trinity itself. Look for further details as Paul makes announcements and schedules parish outreach days to our own backyard. After the grounds have been cleaned up, we'll be looking for further parish outreach as we work on landscaping projects. Look for future information on activities planned to accomplish this phase. Last but certainly not least, we are looking to the day when a contemplation garden, complete with benches, can be established. Kathy Creighton and a Master Gardener from our community are working on plans. This is a longer range goal which will take time, effort, and funds. Costs for Phases 2 and 3 are still being determined (remember this is a work in progress!) The long wait is now over. As of June 1, Trinity has a fulltime priest! We welcome Fr. John Drymon and his wife, Annie Stricklin. Ginny Lee Pilstl Senior Warden
4 4 Music Notes from Parker Maas The choir will complete its regular season on June 5 th at the first Sunday with Fr. John. We welcome extra voices for this spring finale. We will practice at 8:30 a.m. on that Sunday. If anyone would like to provide special music - vocal, instrumental, or both - during the summer, just let me know. We would love to have the Trinity family share their talents! Also, think about joining us when we resume practice in the fall! NEW - KROGER REWARDS!! Kroger shoppers of Trinity earned $ from the efforts of 15 households during the past quarter through the Community Rewards Program! IT IS TIME TO RE-ENROLL. Each year participants need to re-enroll in order for Trinity to continue receiving the benefits of the Kroger Rewards Program. PLEASE BE SURE TO UP-DATE YOUR MEMBERSHIP! OR if you have not yet signed-up, please consider doing so. This program in no way affects your personal Kroger Rewards sales, fuel points, etc. If you would like assistance, to sign up or renew, please contact Deborah. A PRAYER FOR JUNE Father, make me more watchful of the time that I give to useless thoughts and words, and save me from cutting words, which make deeper impressions than can be cut with sharp tools. Forgive me for the hours that have not been profitable; I would I had them back, for my heart and mind have need of them. I pray that I may not be so occupied in expressing my judgment of others that I will forget to live in thy judgment myself. May I have the compassion for others that I hope to receive from thee. Amen. THE COMMUNICATIONS CENTER IS FOR YOUR BENEFIT! You may exchange information, paperwork, mail, etc. It is located in the yellow room under the bulletin board. There are cubbies for the Rector, Treasurer, Secretary, Vestry, Stewardship committee, Property committee, CSG/social committee, Outreach committee, and Worship committee so far.
