There are many examples in the Gospels where Jesus extended his hands and prayed over those who came to him sick in body or mind. In the Acts of the Apostles we see that the first Christian communities also were called upon to pray over individuals who were in need of healing. This Sacrament is offered during Mass so that the whole Community present can pray with the Priest for those who come forward. Come and receive the invitation of grace and find peace in the midst of your pain and suffering. ALL SAINTS DAY The lives of the saints provide us with very effective models of how to live the Christian life. All Saints Day Thursday, November 1, 2018 is a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses will be offered at 9:30 AM & 7:00 PM ALL SOULS DAY REMEMBRANCE Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed All Souls Day November 2, 2018 A Memorial Mass of Candlelight will be held at 7:00 PM at St. Sharbel Church A devotional candle will be lit for each of our parishioners who have passed to Eternal Life this past year. All family members are encouraged to attend this special Mass. Please submit the names of your loved one. A table will be provided at the front of the church lobby where you may place a picture of your loved one on before Mass. PASTOR S CORNER Dear Parishioners, Friends and Guests, A word from Pope Francis ~ The holy anxiety for the Gospel is the only anxiety that gives peace. As our community gathers this weekend, we celebrate the 6 th Sunday of the season of the Holy Cross and we continue our observance of Respect Life Month with this year s theme Every Life: Cherished, Chosen, Sent. Throughout this month, we are called in a special way to reflect on the gift of human life, the threats against it and how we can protect all persons from conception through natural death. Any couple who is expecting the birth of a child can have their names and due date will be included in the next week parish bulletin to this prayer list by calling the parish office. This gives us an opportunity to support our expecting parents with our prayers. Cooler temperatures are coming our way as the autumn season settles upon us. Let s make it a point to notice the beauty of this season and be grateful it is the Lord s gift to us in this present moment.
