4 Chapter 1 The First Law- Embodiment Archangel Mary hopes that as you complete the exercises in Workbook 3, you will acquire a greater conscious awareness and understanding of what makes you tick - regarding the way you view and treat yourself, as well as the way you can use the concepts you ve been exposed to in Book 1 and Spiritual Tools in Book 2 to help you change beliefs and behavior that do not serve you well from a spiritual point of view. You will find that as you practice spiritually interpreting and responding to your life experiences, you will feel a greater sense of self-acceptance and understanding, along with a sense of inner peace that playing a brother s helpe role to yourself and others produces. The first Cosmic Law that governs life on Earth is Embodiment. This Law is an expression of Divine Will, Power, Trust, Faith, Protection, Courage, Strength, and Benevolence associated with the Father Aspect of God and the Sacred Blue Ray of Divine Will. The Law states that we have been created as Children of God, whose purpose is to carry out a Divine Embodiment Plan of spiritual growth and humanitarian service. Once we have completed our part helping to reproduce Heaven on Earth, we will ascend back home to God. Exercise 1: What relevance and impact does the Law of Embodiment have on a situation you are facing in your life today? How is it helping you to change your beliefs and behavior from a laggard to a spiritual point of view? Virginia s Comments 2015 was a challenging and difficult year health-wise. I was hit with a painful case of shingles in the winter of 2014, followed by a debilitating bout with occipital neuralgia that left me with excruciating headaches. Hospital stays were required in both instances. In the fall, I had a blood clot in my leg which travelled to my lungs, necessitating another hospital stay. It was touch and go as to whether I would survive and I can remember vividly feeling so ill that I didn t care if I lived or died. My children were ready to put me in hospice care. 5 I knew I had to make a life or death choice, but I felt so sick I wasn t certain whether I had the will or the strength needed to get better. However, the desire to complete my mission was strong enough to make me want to stay, get well and finish my service. I had made a commitment to Archangel Mary to put into Book form all of the information that she has shared with me - messages that had helped me and countless others to see and understand our lives from a spiritual point of view. I wanted to honor my promise to Her. Thus, as I lay in bed in the hospital and afterwards in rehab, I continued my daily practice of utilizing the Seven Cosmic Laws and the spiritual Tools and God Qualities associated with them. The Rite of Confirmation reminded me of my spiritual identity and purpose - that I was a Child of God, whose sole reason for being was to grow and serve spiritually. When I became agitated or upset, I would calm myself by placing my hands on my heart and recite the mantra God is here, I have nothing to fear. Saying the prayer I am a Child of God; I give thanks to God; I AM an expression of God s Will, Wisdom and Love, whose Light nourishes, protects, illuminates and sustains me. I am grateful to God for the gift of life and I pledge to serve God was also beneficial. Not only did it serve as a reminder of my spiritual origin and function, but also of the Divine Blessings that flow my way regardless of how I choose to use my energy. I engaged in this spiritual practice with all the heartfelt energy I could summon. By the time I arrived home, I felt certain that I was on the road to full recovery. Physically, I felt well, which led me to believe that I had learned the spiritual lesson my illness was meant to teach me. Because I felt stronger and calmer after allowing myself to rest and be taken care of, it seemed as if my obsessive, compulsive need and/or desire to achieve and measure up by pushing myself to the limit had evaporated. What more was there? To me, freeing myself from the iron-clad grip of my ego pattern s MO meant that for the moment, my spiritual learning was complete. How mistaken I was! On my short but stamina-building walks, particularly going up inclines, I began to experience a shortness of breath. Another round of doctor s visits and more tests showed that my lungs were in good shape, but my heart valves were malfunctioning. Fortunately, I had a great cardiologist who did not rush me into surgery, but instead prescribed medicines and bed rest. 2 Living With Your Light Turned On

6 Flat on my back again, I realized that while diagnosing and taking care of my physical ailments could be turned over to my doctor, finding out about the underlying cause of my heart problem from a spiritual perspective was my responsibility. The breakthrough with my ego pattern was not enough. I still needed to get back to the spiritual drawing board and seek more help. Help? Yes, help! Suddenly I realized that while I had encouraged and taught other people to ask for Divine Help, I hadn t done so myself. Why? I didn t think I deserved it. I carried such a residue of guilt, shame and blame for my unloving use of energy from many previous lives that I didn t think I was worthy or deserving of receiving anything good. Moreover, everything that had happened to me in this present lifetime seemed to confirm this profound belief or conviction. I didn t even question it. Somehow, it seemed to be a just or justified legacy, a curse which I bore chin up, stubbornly. Even as I followed this train of thought, I also continued my spiritual practice of prayer, meditation and contemplation, and gradually, without my being consciously aware of it, I began to bring some of the concepts of spiritual truth contained in the Law of Embodiment into my life. Slowly, but surely, I began to experience positive change - not in the way I treated others, which had always been respectful, but in the high and mighty, despotic and kingly way I viewed and dismissed myself. It was time, according to Archangel Mary, for a spiritual re-do of my relationship with myself! Looking back over my time in the hospital, in rehab, and in bed again at home, I did another review - another examination of myself. I could see why I d thought that my ego pattern s M0) - that exhausting treadmill of work, work, work, achieving and measuring up to avoid abandonment - was no longer operational. After all, I d stopped pushing myself, rested, recuperated, and felt well! Then, I d had to face that I was not well enough to complete my service. I knew I needed to change something if I were to grow spiritually and finish the task Archangel Mary had assigned me. It was that word task which helped re-direct my thoughts - right back to my ego pattern s MO. A Down-to-Earth Guide to Living a Heart-Centered Life 3

7 I had taken on the channeling of messages from Archangel Mary as another task - another opportunity to achieve and measure up. I did not see myself as special, worthy or chosen by the Ascended Masters for such work. Instead, I saw myself as having a job to do - refinishing the wood on our old station wagon during spring break from college, for example. Like Cinderella, I was the one who was given the tiresome, tedious, or back-breaking jobs no one else wanted to do - or would even try to do. Did I do them? Yes. Did I feel loved and appreciated? No. I had merely done what was necessary to stay in the good graces of the family who had taken me in and could throw me out or abandon me at will. Now, in response to my relationship with my spiritual family in their Celestial Realm, my ego pattern s MO was fully operational! What had I been telling others about unearned blessings flowing towards all of us, no matter how we chose to use our energy? I believed it, for others. What about me? Turning to the Blue-Ray hierarchy, I tried to practice what I had been preaching, reading after reading and class after class. Visualizing a ray of vibrant transparent Blue Light being beamed down to me from the Ascended Master Realm, I asked for Divine Help: To protect me from all negativity directed toward me by myself; To Infuse myself with the vibrations of Divine Benevolence; To spiritually renew the energy of my mental body; To Increase and strengthen my faith in Divine Will to determine and provide all I need to resolve my unhappy, laggard relationship with myself. After I was able to acknowledge that I, personally, needed help to establish a good relationship with myself (without which I could not get well and complete my service) something shifted. It almost felt as if something inside of me cracked open and allowed me to fully feel my I AM Presence for the first time. I might have had the first truly heart-connected thought about myself that I d had in my entire life. I felt the way an old friend of mine described herself and her biological father. When she was a very little girl, she was the apple of his eye, his adored, darling daughter, the one so loved and protected that nothing 4 Living With Your Light Turned On

8 negative could ever touch her. It was only after he left when she was eight years old that her world fell apart. I never felt the kind of loss or longing for an Earth father that she did. However, when I succeeded in opening myself to the blessings of the Blue Ray Hierarchy, I felt the exact way I am certain she did as a child - surrounded inside and out with Power, Trust, Faith, Protection, Strength and Benevolence. I now know what it is to feel a Father s love. How did I get to this new place? I summoned the Will to do so. Never giving up, continuing to utilize the Rite of Confirmation, and saying all of the associated prayers, affirmations and mantras, I built a momentum of positive energy which opened my heart. Now, I feel better than I have in a long, long time - able to work in my garden, give readings, host classes, and continue to write this book! 9 Exercise 2: What are your thoughts today about the way your father treated you? How did his treatment affect the way you treated yourself and others and shape your sense of self-worth, being needed and belonging? Virginia s Comments My childhood and young adult experiences led me to believe that I should not expect, nor did I deserve to be taken care of and protected by an Earth father. My experiences with all five fathers (biological, foster and adoptive) only enhanced this belief. The care and protection they provided were shortlived and sporadic, since their presence in my life was only temporary. To complicate matters even more, my ego pattern s MO further intensified and entrenched these beliefs. No matter how hard I tried to achieve and measure up perfectly in quantity and quality, my efforts failed to induce my Earth fathers to provide the care and protection I needed, wanted or thought I deserved on a sustained basis. Neither did the interaction I had with them do anything to instill in me a sense of self-worth, being needed or belonging. All my efforts to earn such approval by achieving and measuring up at all times and under 6 Living With Your Light Turned On

10 all circumstances came to naught. As a result, I experienced my greatest fear - abandonment! I was certain that I just didn t have whatever it took to deserve to experience the Earthly paternal care and protection that so many others enjoyed. The ever-changing paternal relationships I experienced have turned out to be a blessing from a spiritual point of view. They have made it much easier for me to accept and understand the role the Father Aspect of God is meant to play in my life. In fact, it has been a relief to be able to rely on one father figure instead of the five I had. Accepting that I am worthy of receiving Divine Care and Protection and that I am meant to experience an innate sense of self-worth, being needed and belonging just because I am God s Child is growing ever stronger - as is the belief that I don t have to do anything to earn or merit these blessings. 11 Exercise 3: How did your father s perception of stereotypical gender roles influence the way you viewed and treated yourself and others in terms of appearance, behavior, personality traits and/or beliefs? Virginia s Comments I can see how I allowed my adoptive father s perception of stereotypical gender-based patterns of beliefs and behavior to define and govern the first half of my life. Growing up in the era in which June Cleaver s persona served as the epitome of the perfect wife and mother, I believed that women should be ingratiating, accommodating and submissive - indeed fathers and husbands knew best. Therefore, he should be the decision-maker and arbiter in all matters. Although it was nice for a woman to be smart, it was not as important as it was for a man. Since men did not necessarily like or approve of a woman having a brain according to my father, it should be hidden or underplayed. He went on to remind me that if a woman had to work, she could only hope to be a secretary, a nurse, or a teacher. 8 Living With Your Light Turned On

12 In the 1950 s college more often than not was the place for a young woman to obtain a so-called Mrs degree, which would allow her to assume her rightful place in society - that of wife and stay-at-home mother, and enable her to play her gender-assigned role of comforter and nurturer. For a young man, college was the place to earn a degree that would enable him to assume his rightful place in society - that of husband and father, and allow him to play his gender-assigned role of protector and provider. Thus, each person would feel complete, because he or she had found the perfect partner to be with until death do us part, to perform the functions and fill the needs of the laggard perceived-missing masculine or feminine side of self. Achieving a life of material ease and comfort was the goal of many, with father being the head of the family and decision maker in all matters of importance and mother playing the role of nurturer, comforter, and in charge of everybody s happiness.
