6 About The Author "Poulomi's Abode" is the pen name of the author Poulomi Mukherjee Reddy (commonly called as Poulomi or Pauli), who tries her best to enforce the thrust of motivation through her quotes, unmanned poems, and writing. She was born to a Bengali family in New- Delhi, India. Amidst, the birth of technologies, she remained glued to the books. Unlike other children of her age, she did not bother much about playing, rather developed an intense love for books and education. At a very young age, she considered writing as her hobby and passion. About Poulomi Belonging to a typical conservative Indian family, Poulomi initially never thought of doing something beyond the high technical jobs. Hence, she pursued engineering during her graduation and later on started her career as a teacher. Meanwhile, she continued writing poems during her free time. She had learnt from her family (especially from her Grandfather), to have a strong survival instinct in case of adversities. Faithful to that, she always trusted her instincts and emerged as a strong independent woman and struggled her way through abysmal failures. To stand back every time she fell had become her engraved passion! v

7 Educational Qualifications She graduated in Bachelor of Engineering from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. Then, she took up Master of Business Administration in Information Technology and alongside pursued Bachelor of Education from the same University. Later she pursued Master of Science in Information and Communication Systems from the Chemnitz University of Technology in Germany. Writing as Passion Sometimes her inner voice made her believe that she is probably a misfit for the professional world of engineers. Thus, she finally started chasing her dreams and created her pen name "Poulomi's Abode." She confided in herself whenever she faced strong oppositions from the people around her and concentrated on her passion. Her journey as a writer had been in itself quite motivating! X vi

9 Prologue Reading the prologue is as annoying as reading the school books you ve always hated. Hence, keeping it short, I (who loves to talk or write otherwise) would love to introduce this book as an emotional roller-coaster ride. Right! You did read that right! This book is a collection of snippets of the work done under my pen name Poulomi s Abode. It includes various quotes and poetry (especially motivational) bilingually in English (Part-1) and in Hindi (Part-2). I firmly believe that sometimes writing is the only way to light the fire within! Hence, I write not only to give my emotions an outlet but to help others realize their emotions and feelings as well! Everyone dreams of swimming across the ocean, I choose to walk beneath it...! Because that is what it takes to find the pearl and the beauty of life! A leader focuses on "We," instead of "You and me." Life has a weird way of hitting you hard on face! So hard, that it becomes difficult to stand up even. But, maybe it's just a way for you to know that you have to sit back, restore power and hit back hard. Hard, very hard! Determination brings determination to win. It's tough to decide and choose sometimes. Life is a mere game that is hard to understand. Be ready! 3

21 Poulomi's Abode Determined to succeed, don't give failure a chance. It's all in mind. Failure is good to start with, next time you know exactly what not to do! It is never Late before it is Too Late! Get up, get going, the world is yours! If life hits you, hit it back hard. Prove yourself to be a fighter. The world already has many losers! Don't crib over problems, throw back the solutions! If you can't get it, then don't dream it. If you dream it, then bloody get it. Dream, dream, dream and then achieve it! Sky always surprises me! It shouts at us constantly to reach heights! No matter what, dare to dream! My dose of pleasure, "I hate to give up." 4

22 Poulomi's Abode of Thoughts If you want to succeed in life, what do you simply do? Work it out! Be a wild cat! Keep sniffing at your life and work hard to make it right. Convince yourself to be a winner every day. The rest doesn't matter! Don't live the same day of your life 365 times a year. Have stories to tell, and not regrets to hold. Live your life the way you want! At least, you won't regret while dying. That is more than enough to get satisfied when you breathe your last! Have the strength to fight your demons. The world will be automatically at peace then! Life is a mystery! If that is so, then why to worry? It anyway can't be solved! Determination >> Dreaming 5

23 6 Poulomi's Abode At times, even in the darkest of nights, we can still find a boat of hope. All we have to do is to look hard and keep believing. Speak up for yourself. If you don't, no one else will. Freedom isn't everywhere if you don't find it in yourself...! Chase yourself, nothing else matters! Dreams come true when you dare! So let it be! Give it a try, dare! Royalties don't change their walk, even when caged. Be your own Santa, have faith in self. Believe that you are the only elf. I can t be defeated, no matter what! I dare to dream because I dream to dare! Stop chasing results. Conquer them! Dreams should never die even amidst the greatest fall.

Let the world roar about your existence, even when you sleep. Have enough confidence to rule the world, even when asleep. Success has no genre, Fear has no power, When the mind is held high, That is when the dreams fly. Be Strong! Not everyone can feel your pain and nor it is necessary. It's your fight, not theirs..! You fail, only when you give up. Don t! The hardest battle is always within. The rest doesn't matter. 7

25 Poulomi's Abode Ask yourself:- If not now, then when? If not you, then who? If not to follow dreams, then what? If you want it, get it! Don't rely on others. It delays the process. You have to do it for yourself. If you can't, then no one can. Chasing your dreams is easy, But finding the right one is difficult. When you find one, just hang onto it. Believe, things will be alright and eventually they will! A star is never a "Born-Star." A star becomes a star due to the work he/she does. Hence, believe in yourself! Do what you want to do silently. Let your achievements shout. Hold onto the last strand of hope, You might get pulled up right then! 8

26 Poulomi's Abode of Thoughts It just takes 3 seconds to decide "I will do it" and then bang on...! No choices will be left. Nail it: "Giving up is a choice, don't make it your attitude." To succeed, best motivation comes when you fail! Faith >> Fear When someone tells you, "Life is already planned! Tell them, "Don't worry!! I am editing." The job of people is to comment. You have to live your dream, not them. So keep dreaming and dream big! Real success is, "Even when you are silent, the world knows your identity." Don't let fear win the race, stand up and chase it! Compete with self, so much so that even the best version of yourself is envious of you. I am still struggling. But trust me, when I will "Getup," the world will "Bow-down." 9

27 10 Poulomi's Abode What you want, not always it works that way!!! But, it works. Failure is a state of mind, so change it to success. Mightier isn't the sword; mightier is the word. "Kill it in style!" Don't make winning your habit, make it your weakness and you will never fail. How about working only towards our goals and gossiping only about self to ourselves? Failure isn't really the end! It's the beginning of a new vision. True!! We can't choose our battles. But, we can choose to fight! Scariest monster lives inside the human who refuses to believe in him/herself. Changing for good is divine..!! Define failure. An opportunity, telling you that you are on the wrong way.
