The world renowned author, George Bernard Shaw, defined history as an agreed upon set of lies. If you have doubt about its validity, just imagine yourself reading a history book in Germany if Hitler had won his war. Fortunately not all people accept limitations blindly like sheep! Some of us look upon them as challenges. What we call growth or progress always involves some form of pushing back limitations, whether on the personal national or global level. When my mother was a young girl, she was taught that nice girls never expose their ankles in public, and all the other Victorian inhibitions that went with it. Would you like to go back to those times when there were no bikinis, the iceman brought the only means of refrigeration to your home, and most of what we consider necessities today didn t even exist? I doubt it! But 99% of people today still live in an emotional and psychic atmosphere that is far more primitive than the material world of the 1800 s! The educational process as a whole (including what we learn in school, from our parents, friends, employers, etc) works to brainwash you into acceptance of the normal limitations of the period. How many laws and facts have you already discarded along the way as the march of progress has changed the agreed upon set of lies to accommodate new conditions and situations. It is only as you begin to pinpoint the concepts which are limiting you now, and see them for what they are (part of the grand set of lies) that personal growth of any consequence becomes a serious possibility. It also offers a new understanding of the human being. We do not truly realize our humanity until the fourth phase of advancement. The passage into the fourth phase of advancement signifies the mastery of body, emotions, sexuality, will, and the thinking mind by the psychic, feeling heart. However, it does not imply the annihilation of the ego. The functional ego, or independent self-sense, is never annihilated in this schema. It is a necessary function of the whole body, like a muscle or a thought. We cannot mature without having acquired the sense of autonomous functional existence, and we can never act without that function. In closing, the autonomous ego-sense must be illuminated and transcended through the power of love. The heart must awaken and mature in the feeling and intuition of GOD, until the soul realizes its Transcendental Unity and perfect communion with the Divine Person. Even then the functional ego persists and is nothing more than the body-mind itself, until the entire body-mind drops away in perfect psycho physical death, or Divine Translation, in the seventh phase of advancement. We have cranked out lots of newsletters, prayed thousands or prayers, received many testimonials and manifestations of Spirit s goodness in the middle of a challenged world. We persevere daily to keep the good energy flowing. Al s works live on in his books and in each one of us who participates in the good magicks. Good magick is a term to describe bringing into manifestation our creative thoughts, to accomplish a positive purpose some of our members prefer the word prayer. To me the Lab is all about a quest to know the best SPIRIT has to offer each one of us and our Lab membership is inclusive of all religious perspectives, all races and nationalities, men and woman, and folks of diverse points-of-view. We are to have FUN as we seek an alignment with God, His angels, good spirit guides and teachers, our Merry Lab Spirit Band and all manner of positive creative forces that are with us. Each of us is a child of Divinity whatever we choose to call Divinity God, Goddess, Mother, Father, Divine Intelligence, Creator, ABRAXAS, Infinite Source of All EACH OF US is a spirit in a body not the other way around!
