The various programmes framed by state, central governments, aiming at poverty eradication are being implemented through Kudumbashree Mission. Kudumbashree Mission, which has been working for women empowerment focusing on NHG formation, Micro Finance, Micro Enterprises has also been implementing skill training, constructing houses in the urban areas as well. Kudumbashree Mission have a strength of 43 lakh women as members in two and a half NHGs. Therefore it is easy for kudumbashree to reach out to the public to the common public and it helps to identify the real beneficiaries for the governmental programmes efficiently. That is why state and central governments are implementing their programmes through Kudumbashree. Therefore, it is needed to mark the details of the interventions that Kudumbashree have been making in the society through its website. Kudumbashree had made it possible to get the full data on the various programmes being implemented through Kudumbashree. WHAT IS A WEBSITE? Revolutionary changes had happened in information technology by the arrival of Internet. Websites, the information centres are the most important among it. During 1991, Tim Berners, an official of European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) invented the website during that time. But only CERN officials were able to visit that webpage. The information about an institution, organization or a person was disseminated through Photographs, Videos and Written write-ups. By the invention of internet, the idea of website also got much promotion. Apart from keeping the details in physical form (like printed magazine, books, notices), by using website these details were able to kept in digital form. KUDUMBASHREE WEBSITE Kudumbashree website acts as a repository of information, which is accessible to any person from anywhere in the world who have access to internet. It could better be defined as an encyclopedia of information on Kudumbashree. The inventions made by Kudumbashree Mission which is celebrating its 20th anniversary on 2018 is recorded in the website. Anyone can collect those details anywhere from the world at any time. Each programmes are mentioned and the documents made available through website. Most of the information is in English Language. LAUNCH Kudumbashree s website was registered in Technoworld technologies, which is one of the Unnathy IT units of Kudumbashree entitled with the charge of website. During January 2017, KELTRON renovated the website. Dr. K.T. Jaleel, minister of LSGD, Government of Kerala inaugurated the revamped website. The website is designed so as to monitor the progress and to ensure transparency. Later in 2017, Kerala State Institute of Design gave new look to the website. The write ups would be based on the various programmes implemented by Kudumbashree Mission. As of 27 July 2018, a total of 292 featured topics had been uploaded in the website. The story is uploaded along with the photo of the respective story. b. Press Release : Kudumbashree s public relation team keep on sending the news to the print and electronic media on a regular basis. The Press releases are prepared by covering a Kudumbashree event or by collecting information from various departments. The developed Press release is then send to Programme Officer or Chief Operating Officer, then to PRO and finally to Executive Director for approval. Once get final approval from ED, the press releases are send to the concerned media institutions via . This Press Releases are uploaded in the website also. Publications This link act as a hyper link to Publication Page. a. Magazine: Keralathinte Kudumbashree Magazine is the print medium through which Kudumbashree reaches out to its NHG members. Every issue of this magazine in PDF format is being uploaded in the website under magazine tab. Magazine is published on monthly basis. It describes our projects and activities and the activities that various District Missions implement. It also includes the success stories of the women who made remarkable achievements, news of the state-wide activities, poems written by Kudumbashree NHG members etc. It also includes other columns on Gender Development, agriculture and other tips. Rs. 20 is the cost of a Kudumbashree Magazine and Rs 200 for the yearly subscription It reaches out to our NHG members and the public in a more effective manner. It is Kudumbashree Mission s magazine that make the group members aware of what we do as an organization. The magazine is also sent to Government officials, to the offices of all Ministers of Government of Kerala and all District Mission offices 157

6 across the state. Anybody can read this magazine from our website. Total 16 issues of magazine have been published till July 27th b. Newsletter : Under this tab we can access English and Malayalam newsletters. Starting from 11 October 2017, Newsletters were published selecting the best featured topics published in the week. It is published on weekly basis and are being sent to various administrators, officials, CDS chair persons etc. via . As of 25 July 2018, a total of 42 newsletters had been published. Two interviews with the successful Micro Enterprise units are also included in each edition. Apart from the English version of the newsletter, on 21st June 2018, Malayalam newsletter named Prathidhwani was launched. So far, a total of 6 Malayalam Newsletters had been published. c. Books and Brochures : Kudumbashree Mission has published various books and brochures as part of the documentation process. PDF format of this book is being uploaded under Books and Brochures section.
