1 A Positive Path for Spiritual Living September 2018 Minister s Message When you forgive, you in no way change the past - but you sure do change the future. Bernard Meltzer Who could I forgive today? How about we start with ourselves. The art and practice of true forgiveness begins at home, or within ourselves. So often, we hold grudges and resentments towards past events and people that we don't realize how harmful these emotions can be to our bodies and our spirits. Our first step in this process would be to ask if we are truly willing to let go of our baggage? It's either a yes or a no; either we will or we won't. Once we are clear on our intentions we can begin to move forward. concerns and burdens. When was the last time we literally surrendered? It takes great courage to do so. In our forgiveness process we must be willing to give it up, hand it over, and to trust that the universe does indeed have our backs in all situations. If we feel blocked and unable to find peace - trust me when I tell you there is something blocking our center of serenity and it is most likely us and our un-forgiveness. In my years of growing up in the traditional church, we sang a song most of us are familiar with called "I Surrender All," do you remember that powerful song? "All to Jesus I surrender, all to him I freely give. I will ever love and trust him, in his presence daily live." We know as meta-physicians that the song is referring to the Christ Presence within us and our willingness to surrender all our Let me remind you once again that what we give to the world and others - we receive in return; what we withhold from others and the world - will be withheld from us. Prayerfully consider today who we have not forgiven, including ourselves and make a commitment to heal these wounds. We will be amazed at the peace we will discover. Jamie, We hear people talk about "taking ownership" of their church; that feels controlling to me - how do you see it? D. Anderson Dear D. What a great question. The idea of taking ownership of your spiritual community of choice has little to do with being controlling, but is about being engaging and supportive of the community as a whole. It's about being clear that it isn't always about having your own way, but considering the overall desires of the group. If you are active in a spiritual group, church or organization, being a good steward means taking part, attending, giving of your time, treasure ($) and talents to ensure that the community is successful. Some people come to simply get and take energy away - while there are others who come and roll their sleeves up and not only receive empowerment and inspiration, but they also are willing to add their energy, money and light to the overall vibrations of what the community is all about. We call this being "givers or takers." Ownership means I am part of a wonderful group and I AM honored to give my support fully. I appreciate your seeking clarity on this term. Dear Rev. J: I love coming to Unity and hearing your messages, but do not like it when you are not here. You have some great speakers to fill in, but don't you think it is your job to be here each and every Sunday? This is meant in love. :) A. Jones Dear A.: I so appreciate you missing my presence when I am away, but Spirit calls me to give and serve in other venues as well, and I am honored each and every time. Here is the part many may not understand; it isn't just about WHO the speaker or presenter is, but in reality it's about WHAT IS THE MESSAGE? Our job as Truth students or "spiritual seekers and finders of Truth" is to show up, open up, and receive the gift that is presented to us today. You hear me affirm often - I AM TEACHABLE, and this is one of the major keys to receiving Truth, healing, and spiritual awakening of any kind. So, when I'm not here, show up willing to receive "your personal message from Spirit" and see what transpires within you. Often our opinions and attitudes can block our good. People have told me before they don't appreciate my absence, and many only come occasionally. I have said before - "I so appreciate your missing me - but where are you all the Sunday's I am here?" And I smile and wink. Be open and receptive every time you enter the doors and let Spirit flow! Unity of Pensacola 4

THIS YEAR WE CELEBRATE A QUARTER CENTURY OF FOCUSED PRAYER WITH INDIVIDUALS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE. THIS YEAR WE ALSO HONOR THE THEME: BE STILL AND KNOW!" IN PENSACOLA WE WILL COME TOGETHER IN OUR SANCTUARY AT 7:00 PM ON SEPTEMBER 12 TO VIEW (LIVE STREAM) SILENT UNITY'S OPENING SERVICE FROM THE UNITY VILLAGE ACTIVITIES CENTER WITH THE KEYNOTE ADDRESS. THEN AROUND 8:30, (DURING THE CANDLELIGHT WALK TO THE SILENT UNITY CHAPEL) WE WILL BEGIN OUR PRAYER VIGIL. LYNN BALL JACKSON WILL PLAY CRYSTAL BOWLS TO RAISE THE VIBRATION FOLLOWED BY AN OPPORTUNIY TO SIT IN THE SILENCE AND AFFIRM WITH OTHERS AROUND THE WORLD, I AM A HEALING PRESENCE. Prayer for Unity of Pensacola: We, of Unity of Pensacola, now bring to all of the energy of humanity a new cause. Our cause now is all of love. It is with us wherever we are.
