Worship July 15, 2018 10:30 a.m. Ou r Mission: Gro wing in Sp irit Living as D isciple s Se rving God s World Preparation for Worship God of Generosity and Grace, Today we give thanks for our many blessings as we pray for those in need. We give thanks for our family and friends as we pray for those who are lonely. We give thanks for our freedoms as we pray for those who are oppressed. We give thanks for our good health as we pray for those who are ill. As we recognize this day for the gift that it is, may your love enfold us, your peace dwell within us, and your joy show through us in all of our encounters. Amen. We Gather in God s Name Prelude Ray Freeman, Pianist Welcome and Announcements Please stand if you are able. (Please pass the friendship register)

Passing of the Peace Leader: People: The peace of the Lord be with you. And also with you. Song of Praise He Reigns Praise Band Call to Worship (Isaiah 55:1-2) One Voice: Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you that have no money, come, buy, and eat! Many Voices: Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. One Voice: Many Voices: One Voice: Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Let us join in worshiping God! Hymn #12 Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise Prayer of Confession Most holy and merciful God, we confess to you and to one another that we have sinned against you by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength. We have not fully loved our neighbors as ourselves. We have not always had in us the mind of Christ. You alone know how often we have grieved you by wasting your gifts, by wandering from your ways. Forgive us, loving God, and free us from our sin. Renew in us the grace and strength of your Holy Spirit, for the sake of Jesus Christ your Son. Amen. Assurance of Forgiveness One Voice: The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting unto everlasting. As far as the East is from the West, so far has God removed our transgression from us. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are all forgiven. Many Voices: Thanks be to God. We Proclaim God s Word Anthem What a Friend We Have in Jesus Summer Choir Children s Message Play n Worship will follow the Children s Message. See page 7. 2 Janet Little

4 Dear Grace Family, MESSAGES On behalf of the Hart Family, we sincerely thank you for all your love, concern and support. The beautiful plant basket is a continuing, growing remembrance of our Grace Family. We spent many wonderful years, raised our family, and have now watched our grandsons being confirmed at Grace. Those years provided us with great memories and lasting friendships. The Grace congregation shows such love for all and we feel blessed and grateful to have all of you standing by us in our time of need. Warmly, Nancy Hart GRATEFUL GIVING AND LIVING! Gardeners Unite! The courtyard is overrun with mother nature s alternative plantings and needs someone or several people to put things back in shape. Removing weeds growing in the rocks and grass in the flower beds would not take long for someone willing to check periodically. Please contact the office. In fact, anyone is welcomed to take on a section of the gardens around the church that needs care. Third Sunday Hunger Offering. Thank you for your contributions of food, toiletries, and grocery bags for ECHO. Please use the green Hunger envelopes for monetary contributions, which will be divided to meet hunger needs internationally and locally. Local donations go to the Lamb Center and ECHO. We have raised $1,050 for our 2nd Farm Bundle, only $250 more to go! Work Campers Leave on July 22. Please be in prayer for them and write to them. Encouraging notes while they prepare can be sent to their homes and while they are at work camp. To send a note to work camp, use this address: Participant s Name, WORKCAMP 2018, P. O. Box 1761, Petersburg, VA 23805 Campers: Denali Dieumegard, Shannon Dieumegard, Shane Hatfield, Katie Machado, Nicholas Machado, Steven Rogers, Lauren Shoemaker, Jackie Slomski, Bobby Staring, Will Staring, and Pyotr Voitsekhovski. Leaders: Sean Dieumegard, Murrie Grimes, Janet Little, Dani Walker, Josh Walker, and Pastor Susan. From Nablus: Deacon Wadie, Raneem Hanna, Jad Kawa, Majed Kawa, Nadin Kawa, Ramzi Kerry, Firas Khalil, and Fadi Quafity.
