It is easy for us to point the finger at others, yet we know that we all need your forgiveness; so we lift into your presence today, not only the victims of conflicts, but also those we have called enemies. Break down the walls of hatred, distrust and bitterness and open a way for us to reach one another in truth and love. Enable us to build a society where all can belong; to share our gifts in mutual respect, and to seek for the new future, which you offer us through Jesus the Christ. Amen. Sunday School. We welcome Margaret Fisher, Audubon Society ambassador for Grace s Grant for Plants project. Today, during Sunday School, she presented a video about how native perennials, shrubs, and grasses help restore the productivity of God s creation. As you walk the grounds, please take note of the new beds of native plantings and new signs made possible thanks to the AAH grant. Called Meeting of the Congregation. In accordance with the Book of Order, Session has called a congregational meeting for the conclusion of Worship, on October 14, in order to receive a report from the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee and to vote upon the candidate that they will present for the position. Additionally, the HR will present a motion to amend the pastor s terms of call for 2018.

The Peace & Global Witness Offering, to be received today on World Communion Sunday, builds on the Presbyterian Commitment to Peacemaking established almost 40 years ago. Peace is DOING, not WAITING. 25% of the offering at Grace will support the making of a video documenting the struggles and peacemaking efforts of Tent of Nations. Please use the special envelopes in the pews for your contributions....peace at all TIMES in all WAYS. Hunger Challenge. You have responded in true Grace Fashion, with amazing generosity! We have delivered 20 bags of food and personal care items to ECHO. Your contributions will support the health and stability of many local families Finance Update. Our offerings have fallen below budget projections. We have delayed some planned spending, but will need to curtail more without improvement. 6 Many of us lose treasured pets and know the pain. It hurts us and we don t want to see them suffer either. On September 28, Brian Purdy lost his best friend Little John, a horse 27 years old. Little John not only carried him, but many disabled children for their first rides. Please pray that they are led to green pastures. Our sympathy is extended to Yvette Moy on the loss of her aunt on October 3rd, and to friends of former member Ann Boelens who died on September 29th in Texas. Ed and Sarah Towery and Remy Johnson are thinking of George and want everyone to remember this would have been his 75th birthday today. Please say a prayer for your friend George who is dearly missed and still thought of daily by family and friends. Peace and Love, Ed, Sarah, and Remy. Please pick up children before coming to Wester Hall for fellowship. K-2nd graders will be in the Bridges Room (Room 14), and all other children will be in the Nursery (Room 5). SUNDAY SCHOOL - Classes are offered at 9:15 a.m. from the 2nd Sunday in September through the 3rd Sunday in May. In addition to children s worship programs, Children s Discipleship provides classes for 4-year-olds through 12th graders, and Adult Discipleship reaches all adults after high school graduation. Any member can direct you to a class. GRACE INSIGHTS - LEARN ABOUT PRESBYTERIANS AND GRACE CHURCH.
