According to C.R.O.P. stands for Christian Rural Overseas Program, and was founded in 1947 to help farmers share grain in post-wwii Europe and Asia. CROP is retained as the historic name of the program that now sponsors the CROP Hunger Walks, interfaith hunger education, and fundraising for Church World Service programs. We are receiving your donations of NEW school supplies for: Free School Physical Outreach Ministry. They provide physical examinations for uninsured Pre-K through 6th grade children, along with vision and dental screenings. Each child examined receives a backpack filled with school supplies. Deadline for your donations - 7/29. Koinonia s August Angels program. In addition to school supplies, they collect new socks and underwear. Deadline for your donations - 8/8. We apologize for any confusion caused by including ECHO as a recipient. The collection box is in the main entrance with lists of suggested items.

5 TODAY Middle Schoolers to MLK - After Church. This year, our middle-schoolers will dive into how real-life Christians live(d) out their faith, and they are starting today. Rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are invited to bring a brown bag lunch and a friend to explore the Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial, take a spin around DC, and return in the late afternoon. EVENTS Help the Homeless - Saturday, July 28, 9:30-12:30. Your help is needed. Summer Lunch Bunch - Wednesday, August 1, 11:15 a.m. The Lunch Bunch Program brings school lunches to the children who don t have a way to pick them up. Meet Pastor Susan at church and go to the apartments to serve lunch and talk to the children. Thanks to those who helped on July 22. Also coming up 8/17. Baseball - Sunday, August 5, 1:35 p.m Start Time. Nats vs. Reds. Tickets are $30. Please sign up in the Narthex this week if at all possible. Meet us there or carpool/ride the bus from Grace after church. Wear your Grace tees. If You Want To Bring Snacks to the Game Nationals Park has outside food and beverage regulations. Please check their website ( ballpark/information) or call us in the office to make sure you comply. In summary: coolers must be soft-sided and no larger than 16x16x8; no metal, hard plastic, or glass containers are allowed; food must be in single-serving clear plastic bags in the small cooler; each person is allowed one drink bottle, which must be factory sealed or empty, and no larger than 1-litre. National Night Out Ice Cream Social - Tuesday, August 7. Plan to be here for some awesome ice cream and a chance to meet the neighbors. Visits from the Fire Department and the Police Department are planned, so bring the kids. We ll have ice cream on the lawn and some games to pass the time. Bring a lawn chair. Gettysburg - September 22. John Sowdon s Famous Battlefield Tour will visit the scene of the turning point of the Civil War. We ll stop for lunch before returning. 5

Worship Bags are available in the Narthex with crayons, books, and activity sheets for young children. After the Children s Message, children have their own worship downstairs. When worship ends, 3s and 4s will be in Room 5, and older children in Room 14. Please pick children up before meeting in Wester Hall for fellowship.
