1 Sunday Worship October 21, :30 a.m. Ou r Mission: Gro wing in Sp irit Living as D isciple s Se rving God s World Preparation for Worship Lord, You have always given strength for the coming day; and though I am weak, today I believe. Lord, You have always given peace for the coming day; and though of anxious heart, today I believe. Lord, You have always kept me safe in trials; and now, tried as I am, today I believe. Lord, You have always marked the road for the coming day; and though it may be hidden, today I believe. I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for morning, More than those who watch for morning. (Psalm 130:5-6) Please stand if you are able.

2 2 We Gather in God s Name Prelude Welcome and Announcements Ray Freeman Please sign the friendship register Passing of the Peace Leader: The peace of the Lord be with you. People: And also with you. Song of Praise Here I Am To Worship Praise Band Call to Worship One Voice: O Lord, you have searched me and known me. You discern my thoughts from afar. Many Voices: You search out my path and are acquainted with all my ways. One Voice: Even before a word is on my tongue, O Lord, you know it completely. Many Voices: Where can I go from your spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? For you hold me wherever I am. One Voice: Let us worship God! Hymn #22 God of the Sparrow Prayer of Confession Sometimes, O God, we don t know how to pray. We look around and we see a world torn by hurt, by hardship, by injustice. Some of these things are of our own making. Some of them persist while we stand idly by. Sometimes we simply weep at what we feel helpless to change. And often, even our best intentions result in misunderstanding and unintended hurt. We can be wonderful, O God, but we can also be terrible. We are courageous but we are capable of great cowardice. We are obedient to you in one moment and willfully disobedient in the next. Forgive us and restore us, O God. Affirm what is good in us and cleanse the rest. Help us to be your people. In Christ s name we pray, Amen. Assurance of Pardon Leader: The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting unto everlasting. As far as the East is from the West, so far has God removed our transgression People: from us. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are all forgiven. Thanks be to God!
